Hi..I was dismissed from my RN program and I need letters from family and friends and I was wondering if anyone could give me examples of letters or direct me where to go. Does anyone know if this will actually help my case? I have a meeting with the Dean soon and wanted to show her or send her my support letters. Any help would be appreciated...I am desperate!!!!....THANK YOU SO MUCH :heartbeat

Are you talking about letters of recommendation? If so, don't get them from family and friends. Of course your mom will have nothing but good things to say about you. Letters of recommendation should be from people that are impartial and that have seen your motivation and hard work first hand. Good people to get these from are current or former employers/supervisors or professors.
You can google letters of recommendation for examples. In my experience, the professors and supervisors I've asked knew exactly how to write one since they do it often.
Now, whether these letters will help you...well, it depends on the reason for your dismissal from the program.
Thank you for the advice, but I am looking for Letters of Support. I was dismissed from an RN program and I was looking for examples of letters of support. For examples I believe that _______ should re-admitted in the program because or whatever...I can not find anything so anything would be helpful...and then I was wondering if these letters would help my case into getting readmitted...PLEASE HELP....THANK YOU...Any examples of letters would be even more helpful...

Why were you dismissed? If it's for poor grades or misconduct then the letters won't help...

Don't see where letters from third parties will be of any use in getting readmitted. The only opinions that would be of any merit are those of your nursing instructors, and they would have been heard out when it was decided to dismiss you.

This is what a letter of recommendation is. I had them written for me when I applied to my program. Whether they're referring to why you should be admitted initially or readmitted after dismissal, the purpose is the same. Again, family and friends aren't the best option because they can't give impartial "support." Can you clarify with the person that told you to get letters of support to find out what exactly they need in these letters?
Also, trying googling letters of recommendation and letters of support and see what comes up. Read through a few of them to get ideas. The name of the type of letter is irrelevant, it's the content I'm assuming you're looking for.
Keep in mind though, all this will not matter if you were dismissed for negligence at clinical or failing grades.

This is what a letter of recommendation is. I had them written for me when I applied to my program.Letters of support are different. They are used for job promotions and in the case of the OP, reinstatement. I would recommend getting letters from faculty, classmates, hospital personnel, and a boss (if you're working). Letters of support need to be more specific and directly address the issue.

Did the school suggest you submit letters of support? I've never heard of a situation where a student got dismissed from a program and the school then had any interest (in considering an appeal) in whether anyone else thought the student should be readmitted. Schools are usually interested (only) in the circumstances leading to the dismissal and any "hard" evidence related to those circumstances (and, possibly whether the student can make a compelling case that s/he has learned a lesson and changed behavior), not in the opinions of family or friends.
Best wishes, though! :)

unless these letters are from an instructor or employer...NS isnt going to care what your best friend and mom think...of course they would stand behind you which is why their opinions are irrelevant. If the school ASKED for these letters that is different...otherwise I wouldnt bring them..it just doesnt look professional to me.

If that school does care then it's not one that I would attend.. sounds an awfully lot like begging. Only time I've seen letters of support used is for grant proposals. And that's pretty much begging.
There are many people who attend nursing school because "it's their dream/calling/life/feeling/religious belief" and they have to pass the same tests and demonstrate the same professional conduct that everyone else does. It's hard when one sees something they've wanted forever blow up in front of them but that's life... it's not how you got knocked down, or how hard you got knocked down, it's how fast you get up.
Well if the letters mean begging...then yes I am begging. I was so close to graduating. It is like seeing the finish line, almost touching it and not being able to get to it. I was doing well in testing, but it was a mistake I did in clinical. I did not hurt a patient or anything, but it was a mistake in clinical...same mistakes others students have made.....I am so irritated...ugh but thank you to everyone for the advice
this was your second time failing the same clinical correct? I just cant see them admitting you again based on letters from your family. If you truly think they had it out for you then why go back?
start over somewhere fresh..
