Letters of Acceptance to Golden West College?

Hi there...anyone receive their letters to take the TEAS V for Golden West College for Fall 2011? Thought I would start a thread for those of us who did and may have questions for each other.

I called and spoke with the woman in the Nursing Dept today, she informed me that only 1/2 of the conditional admittance letters were sent out. They're still working to sending out the rest.

This sounds so much more reasonable. The woman I spoke to sounded like she wanted me to get off the phone sooner rather than later.

Makes me really confuse one of u say all the conditional admittance letters were sent out, other say that half of them were sent, as both of u have talked the lady in Nursing Dept .

It is definitely confusing. It is possible we spoke to two different people. It is possible both reports are wrong. :eek: I'm more inclined to believe they enjoy systematically inducing nervous breakdowns in otherwise rational nursing hopefuls. :p Our only alternative, really, is to wait and see. :crying2: I'm hoping they only sent out the fall admittance letters and they are waiting for folks to take the TEAS and maybe weed some applicants out before settling on an alternate list for fall and working on the admittance and alternate lists for spring. That's my best guess...and it's the only thing keeping me sane and in good spirits. :)

I'm hoping the lady I spoke is right. Unless GWC change their prodecure of mailing the alternate. I remember last year when they sent me the Not Qualified letter; in that letter it stated eventhough I was not qualifed, I was chosen to be on the alternative list. Based on the their website, all the Not Qualified letters ( NOT randomly selected) were sent out. The only letter that is left is conditional acceptance.

I spoke with someone really helpful in the Nursing office just a few hours ago. She told me that only fall 2011 acceptance letters have gone out. This leaves acceptance letters for Spring 2012 and letters for alternates that have yet to go out. Those letters along with rejection letters will be sent out some time in April. Hope this helps. I'm also waiting for a letter from GWC, and the wait sucks! I'm hoping to get a letter soon since I live only a mile away from the school. Has anyone gotten a letter recently? I'm getting really impatient considering that the last post they made on the website is that it may take up to another month to hear from them?!

I am really confused if they are sending letters for spring 2012 from our apllications because they are goint to accept new application for out- of -state students in October. This group of applicants are for Spring 2011, I doubt if they are still acceptance letters coming out. Maybe we never know. Lets wait and see what they are going to say.

Spring 2011 is the semester we're currently in. Where did you find this information? I thought Golden West only took apps once a year. :confused:

Last year i wanted to apply in October for Spring 2011 and they told me that they were accepting applications from out- of -state applicants only. I had to wait for January 2011 to apply for fall 2011. I finished my pre-reqs Spring 2010. I got the information from them. maybe they changed their system this year or the person I talk to lie. Its really confusing.

as far as I know, they changed to one year application since 09 by the way on GWC nursing website: All Status Letters Have Not Gone Out Dear Nursing Applicants: There have been numerous phone calls and emails about status letters. We apologize that it is taking longer than expected to process the applications. We have not sent out all the letters, we are predicting that it will take another month. We assure you that we are working as fast as we can, please be patient with us as we continue to process your applications.

Do you know that they have what they name Applicant #1, Apllicant#2. I read this post already, I am not saying they have sent out all their acceptance letters. I think they are waiting for those who receive Acceptance letters to reply accepting the offer so that they can send althernates and other A.L to other applicants. Later on check their website you will see what i am talking about. You might be right and I might be wrong.
