Hi guys:
Doing my convention CEU planning so can identify volunteer and fun times. Looking at the calendar, looks like Saturday night or Monday night good times to get together. South street will be crowded Sat eve but what the heck!
Leave a post or PM when your getting into town and want to get together. I need to get my volunteer form in within the next 2 weeks.
Opening Session: Nurses Care for America, Sun June 30th 8:30 M-10:00 AM with Dr. Elizabeth Norman not to be missed! She spoke at PSNA convention to thunderous applause---will be her story of compiling information for the books she's written about the Nurses of Battan "We band of Angels" and 'Women at War" the story of fifty military nurses who served in Vietnam 1965-1973 and the nurses stories themselves. Elizabeth Norman is a gifted, soft spoken storyteller that lets the nurses experience shine and weaves together the story of modern nurses caring for Amerca.
I brought back 8 autographed copies of We band of Angels for my colleagues--all enjoyed this moving tribute to WWII nurses.
Let's compile list of attendees here so we can find one another!
Thanks for the info, Karen. I have no idea which one of those are not affiliated with anti-union Marriott & I dont want to accidentally end up supporting an anit-union establishment, so I just made my reservations at Loews Philadelphia thru NYSNA. (discounted room rates cause they got a block of them). Sooooooo......
I'll be there for the UAN convention June 25-27 and stay 1 or 2 days for part of the ANA convention. We can email plans to meet or just leave a message for me at the hotel desk "Julie S. - NYSNA UAN delegate"
I'm waiting to hear from my usual roommate and Bassbird to get back to me on times, etc. I've got from 6/26-7/8 off, and my hubby will fly in on 7/2 so we can have time to explore and "honeymoon"- (after 27 years of marriage!).
Soooo, I'm also looking for info on tourist things that won't be too stressful for him.... Any ideas, you Philly and N.J. natives?

Karen,
I just received my regsitration packet. There is a notice that says:
"The association has decided not to hold events in any Marriott hotels because of the Marriotts known anti-union positions."
A block of rooms has been set aside for NYSNA at Loews instead. Just wondering if you know of any other non-Marriott hotels in walking distance of the convention center that you could recommend?
Thanks.
