hi everyone! i'm holli. i took boards on june 13th and passed with 75 questions. i am starting work on july 18th at the only hospital i ever wanted to work for. it is a great pediatric facility! i will be on the (post-op) surgical floor, and we also have all of the endocrine kids. also, they just added an epilepsy monitoring unit, for overnight monitoring and for the brain mapping they are doing. i expressed an interest in that, so they will cross-train me in that unit as well. i can't wait to get started!
so, tell me about you...

Hi My name is kitty I graduated Oct 2010 from an LPN program in NC I took my board in December and passed first try(thank god) Went back to school to take my prereqs in Jan 2011 felt by the end of March I needed to get some experience under my belt so I decided applying for different positions and got a call from a Health and rehab got a second interview and started my orientation the next week. My positions now are weekend 7p-7a and a couple days out the week.. But so glad to have a job..But I feel I have been thrown out to the wolves for lack of help/ training I supposed of trained for 3 weeks to learn PW and polices but guess what NOT I followed a Nurse for 2 days.. I don't know my patients that well.. I experienced my first code blue yesterday (it wasn't one of my patients) and since Im new to this facility and out there by myself My aides was like come on code blue so we started running to help out.. what an experience i felt like a chicken with my head cut off..I hated that I really need training on there paperwork and polices... and my pt ratio is crazy at night on the weekends..I need help with my time management on passing meds and so many accu checks geesh I'm wondering if this is really for me maybe i need to try somewhere else like a Drs office or just stick with this until it get better. Praying and asking God to guide me..

Hello!!! I graduated with my BSN in Dec 2010 and passed the NCLEX in Jan 2011 with 75 questions (hardest test ever!!). I got married 4 days later so it was a little stressful :) I moved to colorado after getting married and did the job search for about 3-4 months and finally got a position on a Med/Tele Unit! I am really excited to finally be on the floor but nervousssss! I am going through facility orientation and love it!
It is so good to hear about where everyone is and how they are doing!!!
Hello, everyone!
My name is Stephanie (obviously, LOL) and I recently took and passed the NCLEX on May 31st, 2011. I am having a heck of a time finding work in a hospital, but I am trying to remain optimistic. Congrats to everyone and I look forward to learning more about everyone and their experiences!!
Hey there fellow newbies! I graduated in May, accepted a job at a local hospital earlier this month, and took/passed boards just two short weeks ago. I start orientation on Tuesday! Excited, nervous, hoping to adjust fairly well Good luck to everyone starting new jobs and to those still looking!! :redbeathe
Hello!
I am Kelly. I passed the NCLEX-PN September 8th, 2011, and was officially licensed the 9th! I am currently in orientation at a LTCF, which I have worked at 3 years as an aide. Tomorrow is day 2 of orientation, and even though I have been there for 3 years, I am SUPER nervous! I am currently in school working towards my RN :)
Hi everybody!
I recently passed my boards and will be starting my first nursing job at the hospital I worked at as a CNA during nursing school. How is everyone else doing? I hear the first year can be rough. Any words of advice?
I hope we can all share stories and get through this first year together.
