Geez, I finished classes mid-Dec and took the HESI on Jan 10th. The school didn't get send off the application to the state until after that week. I just got my ATT last week and set my NCLEX date for April 1st. I probably won't have my actual license until June though I plan on going up to Sacramento to get my temporary license. So I'm just wondering how long it took everyone to get their license? It seems like it didn't take anyone here nearly as long as it's taken me. I'm so frustrated because I need to work now!

I, too, obtained my initial licensure in California. It takes forever in California, and there's no way to get around the waiting period.
I completed an LVN program on October 14, received my ATT on November 21, took NCLEX on December 28, received my passing result in the mail on January 9, mailed my fees to the state BVNPT that same night, and was finally issued a license number on January 20.
In other words, 3 months had elapsed between graduation (October 14) and being issued a license number (January 20).
Commuter,
Did you go to Sacramento to get your license number?

No, because I was living in Texas. Immediately after being issued a CA license number, I endorsed it in order to receive a Texas license.

Geeze....Why is CA so slow and behind the times? In Texas I graduated on April 8th and started work as a GVN about a week later, took the NCLEX and got my license a couple days later on May 9th. Everything was done electronically and I received my paper license in the mail later on.

You people outside of CA are lucky. I went to one nursing home to apply and they wouldn't even give me an application unless I had my license.
