I'm from Peterborough Ontario Canada and upon reading the numerous threads I began to ponder; How long are some of the other nursing programs out there around the world?
Mine was For Registered Practical Nursing and it was 2 1/2 years of schooling in Peterborough Ontario Canada

EU requirements for RNs are 2300 hours of theory and 2300 hours of practice placement, the UK is current a mixture of DipHE and Bachelors degree but from 2012 intakes will be degree only.
the UK does not currently train second level nurses

Ours is a bachelors, RN program. Technically you do one year of general education courses and then 3 years of the nursing program (which consist of both theory and clinical...1380 clinical hours before we're through). Many students take more than a year to complete the general education year as some of the prerequisite classes for the nursing program, have prerequisites themselves.

Mine is a 2-year fulltime direct-entry MSN for those who have a bachelors in another field. 75 units, 816 didactic hours, 1152 clinical hours.
