I graduated from the nursing program today. @Buckhill has been doing an amazing job answering questions, but if you have anything you want to ask a graduate, please feel free to ask me.
Good luck to everyone!
I would first like to say congratulations! I know it may not have been an easy ride, but you made it through! I remember reading old threads and seeing your name. I am so very happy you made it through.
how was the program during covid?
how was the program overall? Difficulty and also how helpful were the professors?
if you can offer any words of advice, please do.
Thank you so much

HI, Amberrae
Really Congratulations!
How was the online classes ? I can not imagine to study nursing and without clinical at first semester for the new bees. If it is online.
How the professor r teaching? Did they just upload power points ? Were they generous for the grades in pendemic?
U guy exampted clinicals for the last semester?
Thx
Hello Amberrae and Buchkill,
Thank you very much for supplying (or offering to supply) amazing information about the program. I had a quick question about the dosage exam. What was the difficulty level? I'm finding banks of questions online and I am trying to gauge the difficulty level of the questions. Also, when do you think it will be administered? Late June? Early July?
Thanks!

CONGRATS and thank you for being willing to help us by sharing your experience in the program! I struggle with motivation in school a lot. I start off strong and then my work ethic dwindles. I wanted to know how did you stay motivated? Another question that I have is how did you tackle memorizing a lot information while studying?

Thank you! It was tough but I'm glad it's over.
The program during COVID wasn't a problem for me. I've taken several online classes before so I didn't have trouble getting used to the format. We did blackboard/voicethread posts for "lecture" and sometimes we had live classes on Zoom or Blackboard collab. I had two presentations that were done live on Blackboard Collab. Some students struggled a bit, but I believe Lehman has resources and training that can help those who need it. The only thing that sucked was the fact that we didn't get all of the patient experience we wanted. Clinicals were cut short due to COVID. Half of the seniors had their community rotation left, and the other half still had Med/Surg left. I'm not sure how they'll be handling clinicals in the Fall. But this semester we did case studies, made wellness calls to seniors, had virtual simulation clinicals, and some people did virtual presentations.
The program was okay. Other graduates agree that you get what you pay for. It's not the worse nursing school ever, but there are better (but more expensive) options. We don't get as much hands-on experience as some other schools do. However, you can still succeed and learn a lot in the program. You just have to put effort into it. The difficulty of the program.. probably a 6.5/10. The material isn't hard but it's a lot of information to retain. I think that's the case for most nursing programs. 73 (C) is passing and that's lower than in other schools. I think that makes it a little easier to succeed. Some professors aren't helpful at all but overall I would say they're a 6/10. Sometimes you'll have to teach yourself the information, but again, that's the case with a lot of schools. Some professors really great and helpful, while others may accuse you of not studying properly. If you're not doing well, please talk to them or reach out to your peers immediately. It shows that you care about doing well.
Words of advice... study ahead of time (at least two weeks ahead of an exam. Try to do a little every day so you're not cramming), do a lot of practice questions, ask for help in the beginning and do not beat yourself up if you aren't getting high grades. If you're passing, you're good. If you understand the material, you're great. People can get straight As in the program, and but most don't. It doesn't mean you aren't intelligent. Also, MAKE SURE YOU DESTRESS AND GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO RELAX. You have to take a breather every once in a while. Treat yourself.
Sorry, this is super long! I hope I answered your questions. If you need clarification on anything, just let me know. I know not all of my responses are 100% positive but I just want you all to be prepared. I believe in you guys.

Please do not apologize for the lengthy response. It was very thorough and I appreciated reading it so much. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions on such an important day for you. I want to wish you luck in your future endeavors. Can I ask what the next step is for you?
What worries me is the possibility of not being able to do as many clinical hours as we should. I am very comfortable learning online, however I want to have the confidence when it comes to practical experience. Also, thank you for being honest although it wasn’t positive. I appreciate you giving the real deal info so that we know what to expect, it is very helpful.

Thank you so much for taking your time to put this information for us out here. Congratulations to you and wishing you all best as you start your nursing career .
I applied to college of mount saint vincent nursing program and got accepted already,I haven't paid the acceptance fee cos I am waiting to hear from Lehman before deciding. With all you have said, I am beginning to see reasons with my husband when he said to just accept the offer from CMSV that cheaper tuition doesn't mean the program will be better because kept complaining of the misinformation from Lehman nursing department.
Are there people here who applied to other schools and if yes would you choose the other schools if accepted over Lehman college and why.
8 minutes ago, Emely said:Can everyone who gets an acceptance letter or email post here so we can all see roughly the dates they’ll start sending ? I’m super nervous and anxious because I know it’ll be sometime in June ..
Yeah of course that’s a good idea. After reading past forums, I’ve seen a bit of a trend in the way applicants have gotten results. The people with 3.75 -4.0 GPA seem to get their results within the first two weeks of June. Those with a 3.7 or lower than a 3.7, seem to get them after that up until the end of June. There were some people with 3.7’s who have gotten their letters early, so with the unpredictable nature of Lehman who knows how they give them out.?
