Lehman College Fall 2017 Admissions?

Published

Im going to be applying to Lehman's Generic BSN program for fall 2017 and I was wondering what my chances of getting accepted are. So far I have a 3.73 pre req gpa and in the process of taking microbiology and organic chemistry lab and lecture. I hope to get it to a 3.8 if I get A's for these 3 classes. As for my Hesi score, I got a 92 overall, 92 for Reading Comprehension, 94 for Math, 92 for A&P and 90 for Critical Thinking. If anyone who has previously been accepted could share their stats with me that would be great! :D Also, if you're applying for generic Fall 2017 as well you're welcome to share them too so we can see how competitive this year is! I've heard 3.5 is the cut off but I'm sure it depends on the year. Thanks everyone!

I received the orientation packet! Did anyone figure out how or where to order the nursing pin?

The nursing badge is ordered through the Lehman bookstore. I spoke to them yesterday and they said you have to go in to order it.

anyone know when we can begin registering?

Has anyone completed a background check? I followed the recommendations in the orientation packet (local precinct and castebranch.com) and neither were able to provide me with one. Castlebranch requires a code that was not given in the packet. Can someone please recommend any other way to get this done? Thanks!

any one buying textbooks now?

@dparker115

I haven't bought the textbooks, but if you're trying to save some money, you can rent the textbooks on Amazon. The only downside is you have to return them on Dec 19, so if you have finals after that, then maybe photocopy it. There are books in the library as well.

@OMGitsMandyRae

I am probably going to Lehman tomorrow, so I'll ask. I think we just sign a consent form to show proof of everything. I'll double check that.

@telamej I'm always replying late and ruining the flow of things but thank you for responding!

Thanks for everyone who's posted their stats. It's helpful.

I went crazy with this. I don't even know why they suggest castlebranch or the local precinct. I called castlebranch and they do not do a level II criminal background check, neither does the precinct! I then called the nursing department and informed them of what the precinct does offer (certificate of conduct and fingerprints). The person I spoke to said this was acceptable. To get this done though you have to go to 1 police plaze in manhattan. It takes 10 days, I just went yesterday. @omgitsmandyrae

I'm going to buy the cheaper ones on amazon. I wasn't sure If I should buy or rent though. I have no clue if these textbooks will be useful to have for future semesters. Did you take HIN 269 yet? If you have not, I would suggest renting that book. I just finished that class a couple of days ago. @dparker115

@Nurse092188 I completely agree. I'm probably going to rent it and then if I feel like it would be necessary to keep, I'll just pay it out from there. I haven't taken HIN 269 yet, I spoke to an advisor because I may not need to take it since I took an intro to community health course during my first bachelors. If I can get those credits transferred that would free up some time during the winter.

They close down the nursing department on Fridays. I'll go sometime next week.

this seems like a silly question but anyone know if we can use laptops in class? just wondering if I can buy some ebooks for class and since I definitely type faster than I write.
