Lehman college 2016 admittance

I am applying to Lehman College's nursing program for this upcoming August and was wondering what my chances were. I just took my HESI exam and did pretty terribly on the Critical Thinking section (780). The other portions, I did fairly well. Math (98%), Reading (88%), and Anatomy (88%). My pre-req GPA is a 3.74. My overall GPA is close to a 3.5. I was wondering what my chances were with the 2 year program. One of the faculty told me that the critical thinking score was pretty low, but I should apply anyway. Do I have any shot at getting in? Thanks.

On the orientation package it states we have to wear our uniform the 1st day of class aug. 25th. anyone can confirm this? i don't remember them mentioning this during the orientation. I thought the uniform was only for clinicals.

Also has anyone bought their books yet? I was going to buy, but then realized the patho book also can be purchased with the access code. So now I'm not sure if we need the access code or not. The text book list we were given didn't mention any :confused:

You have to wear your uniforms the first day of class if that day falls on your clinical day. The first day of class is a Thursday so if you have clinical on Thursdays DO NOT go to your clinical site but go to school (the nursing building) in FULL uniform. Same with other days that fall on your clinical day (Teusday, Friday, etc...) until your clinical professor says otherwise.

Thanks so much @theunseenbutseeing. I am ordering my books tommorow would you say volume 1 and 2 of the fundamentals book is needed. When I looked by course in the bookstore it is saying only volume 1.

I'm not sure if that's an error on bookstore's part but it is. Volume 2 gives the proper procedures for stuff like administering medication, putting on PPE, bed baths, etc. I think it's necessary.

I am applying for the 2017 Accelerated BSN at Lehman College. Does anyone know if they give a time limit as to how long ago a pre-req can be completed? my A and P is like 12 years old, but I don't see anything suggesting cut offs for the pre-reqs.

I think the time limit for most schools is 5 years but you can visit the nursing department to clarify or give them a call.

am applying to lehman for the spring 2017. when do we get to take the hesi exam ?

I think the HESI is taken from January to March or January to February. They changed it from the usual January to April so you have to make sure you're on point with your timing. Lehman does not provide the exam anymore so you gotta register and take it somewhere else. Also, you have to take one semester at Lehman before you can apply to the nursing program.
