Just wondering if anyone else had applied to Legacy Health (Emmanuel Children's Hospital)? This is in Portland, OR. It closed last Friday and I am wanting to know when people start hearing from them about interviews. Thanks for any info you have!!
we started orientation today. all i heard was that the next cohort would be smaller than ours. we have 62 people. the next is supposed to be only 25 or something and will start around January. they said they wanted to try and have 2 cohorts a year, so this won't be the last opportunity, unless the market tanks again...it seems like a great program so far, and we actually got PAID for today!!!! that rocks!!
ORRocksRN, have you heard anything more about when the next cohort will be? How do you like the program so far?

No regrets or complaints. getting paid training is a wonderful thing. there are some bugs to iron out but future cohorts should benefit from our evaluations of the program.
i have heard a start date in January and also in march so just keep watching the website, work on any extra classes/certs you can get int he meantime, get some rocking letters of reference, and keep up your skills as much as you can. also be SURE you fill out the application correctly. we had 170 apps thrown out because there weren;t correctly filled out. good luck.
Hey OR ROCKS~
Finally got a job in Spokane, in home health care, but Pediatrics. I had almost given up looking! This kind of fell into my lap, after all that searching. Not in a hospital setting like I had hoped for but really using my skills so I know I will be able to move into a hospital setting when the time is right. Wishing you the best!!

OK Kids! Update!
We heard today that the application for the next cohort will be opening on Oct. 28, with a start date of Feb. 28. They will have 40 spots available.
So watch the website and polish your resumes. And be glad that we are ironing out all the kinks for you, so you guys will benefit!!
Best of Luck!

I'm not keen on the idea of moving, but here I go. I'm in Colorado, and I love it here, but I'm moving to Boise, ID.
I'm excited about my new job, in a magnet facility, so I think it will be good. I think I could eventually get a non-hospital job here -- either in LTC or dialysis or something like that. But I like that I'm starting off as a floor nurse and getting acute care experience.
