i have typed almost 3 posts now that got ignored about questions bothering my heart.I didnt sign on for a while because of this until i got e-mail from group saying they missed me.Some questions were already posted and it is fine but makes the group look dead without repetitions sometime(user friendly too).Count it as whatever you want to view it as.Thats how i feel and i am out.The group didnt meet my need for now.....maybe in the future it will but until then,i will go and fight my battle myself and pass the nclex.
I have put stuff on here too and been ignored. But oh well. Or just one or two people reply. I figured maybe because an LVN.
Being an LPN/LVN has absolutely nothing to do with it. There are LPNs/LVNs and former ones (like me) all over the place. Some of us are/were still doing courses ourselves or waiting on someone to address our own world-coming-to-an-end-if-I-don't-get-an-answer situation. Becoming an RN doesn't make those go away at all. In fact, it adds a few, even more-serious ones from what I've seen. There are days that I wish I had remained an LPN. There ain't no green grass on this side, either (at least not in acute care where I am)....more like bile.
I just wait it out. Patience (something you'll find that a lot of our patients don't have) is a virtue.

I sometimes feel this way, too. During my four years as an LVN I definitely felt I was working under a 'safer' level of licensure because the buck did not stop with me, and frankly, I liked it that way. The grass isn't necessarily greener here on the RN side, but it pays more handsomely.

Agree.
I recently had a moment....then I thought of the pay and the flexibility that has increased due to the educational and scope increase.
I am frustrated now because I passed NCLEX, Was a medical assistant for almost 10 years and still am pushing the resumes through. I know it hasn't been long, and I am really trying to stay away from LTC and I do not want to do home health yet because I don't have that kind of experience. There are still some hospitals around TX that do hire LVN's. Keeping fingers crossed. My friend also said that her first job was at a plasma bank and to take a look at that too for a first job. I am a little older, but still considering going back for RN, which my husband wants me to, he is in it for the money, lol, I am in it for the patients.

congrats on passing. You might want to create your own post so people can read and answer your questions.
Disagree, people on this site are not friendly at all or informative
You obviously have not spent any time on this website. AllNurses is as supportive and as understanding as it gets. Nurses are some of the best empathetic listeners. Rants, questions, and support are what you will find here. Long thought out messages and study help is frequent. AllNurses is a family. We love you even if you disagree...
