Lawson State fall 2017

Same here. I haven't taken the ACT since high school as well. I hope I do well too. I have heard good things about Lawson nursing program as well. I did read that on Lawson's website about the ACT. Do you know how Lawson night program schedule goes? days, hours, clinical etc? I had two classmates to be accepted into the program , one for LPN and one for nursing, but I cannot get in touch with either of one of them. They told me that they would keep me updated but I only heard from one and that was at the beginning of the semester. She won't respond to my text messages . Maybe she lost her phone or something. I hope they are doing okay.

I think it's different for each semester but from what I've read they meet 2 days for class and 2 for clinicals. However I do have a contact that I met through this site who I have just sent the question to, awaiting her response now. She never has an issue with answering future students questions on here. She usually responds pretty quickly giving the fact she is in nursing school.

Where did you complete your pre-reqs

Okay. That's great that you have a contact on the site. I have been reading the post on here for years. It really helped my get started on my journey of becoming an RN. I was really hoping that the hours were very similar to Jeff States, but either way I know that I will adjust. Let me know what she says when she responds to your message. I completed all of my pre-reqs at Lawson. I never met anyone in the nights/evening program, only days.

I'm the opposite never met anyone in the day program... all of my coworkers/family membera either went to UAB, bevill, Lawson or wallace and only one person stayed and graduated from Jeff state but that was years ago. I completed my pre-reqs at lawson and faulkner university. I will be sure to let you know what she says when she responds.

Hey blsednurse2be78, I still haven't heard back from that other student yet. May I ask why you're choosing the night program over they day program?

Hey there Jmill90, I chose nights because I work in the day time from 600am-230pm and I am a single mother and I have to work lol. I called the Bessemer campus and was told that the evening program was Mon-Thurs from 4pm until. I think if it's God's will for me to get accepted to Lawson he will make it work. Why did you choose nights?

Same reason work and my child, although I have great support system it is still better... my job is willing to work with me if I decided to apply for days.. did they say it was 4 days a week for each semester or just the first semester? I hope and pray we get into the night program.

That's awesome that you have a great support system and that your job is willing to work with you. I wish I had the option to go in the day time but I just don't see how right now. She really didn't say whether or not it was for just the semester. I hope we get accepted into the night program too!

How did the students that you talked to say tge day program was?

The one I did get to speak with said that it was very hard and fast paced and it was a lot of information to take in but she also said that taking the HPS class really help with answering the NCLEX style questions. She also told me that she would keep some of the information that they got for class for me but I haven't heard from her since the semester started.

Oh ok im glad I'll be able to take that class... I just took all of my biology classes back to back then ill take the HPS and mth186 class so hopefully I'll be prepared. Where else are planning on applying?
