Hi Everyone,

Wanted to start a thread for Lawson State Hopefuls Nursing Program SUMMER AND FALL 2016. Are there anyone that will be applying soon or already a Nursing student in the program already? I will be apply in a few months from now

I mean how would I know how many points they give u for math and ur gpa though

Its in the application packet and on the website. Points are awarded for sciences, TEAS , and HPS. Each A is 30pts...B=20.....and C=10. So you have 71pts with just sciences and HPS. Your TEAS score points are tallied by using the conversion chart. If you made a 66% that is 100points. So your score would be 171 pts.

Well no I didnt get 66% on teas. So im probably doomed :(

:( i just want to cry ! Seem like I work so hard for my As and Bs because mostly thats what I have than to let a TEAS score mess it up will be devastating. No i stay in Tuscaloosa but I really want to get into the progeam this year. Been putting it off too long. Plus I have kids I need to get something started

Well you don't know anything yet. If this is something you truly want don't give up! Like I said I know quite a few class mates that didn't do well at all on the TEAS and they got in.

Yes I really really want it. I applied last year before I took my last science class(220) and before I took the hps. I didnt get in. I was just trying because people had told me they got in and didnt take all their classes. So maybe with the extra points I dont know but I really hope this comes through this time. So freakin stressful !

I hope you get in NurseRN09, I am in the same boat. I didn't do well on my teas test. I was told if I made somewhere in the 50% to be competitive then I should be good with my grades in my pre-reqs and my GPA is a 3.8 at the moment. I pray that I get in but I am planning on taking my last biology 220 class soon and study for the ACT to get a higher score just incase. Keep your head up high

You probably will get in with your gpa. I didnt get accepted last year when I tried to apply without my 220. :( it was worth a try an also took the hps class for extra points that should be helpful if u already havent. I hope uget in too

Thank you! I wish I could have done the 220 class before getting in the program but I have to take it on the weekends so If I get into the nursing program I will be finding me a part time job working at least 2 days a week. I did take medical terminology class because I couldnt take the Hps class during the week.

So do they give extra points for the medical terminology class? I couldnt take it last semester because the class got filled so quick ! I was trying to do it online
