LASW, LACC, LAHC, LA pierce - Fall 2019

Hello everyone, I am applying to 4 different programs in Fall 2019. Does anyone here in the same boat with me? Lets get to know each other and share your experience. Good luck to all of you.

They sent me an email with an attached letter. That's how I was receiving all my notifications throughout the application process. I was looking for more info on their nursing program because they have limited info on their website and came across this forum and thought maybe someone else got accepted too. Hopefully more letters go out I wanna see what people are doing to get ready before the semester starts. Good luck!

Thank you!! Generic RN I've been taking most of my pre reqs at Pierce so I'm pretty familiar with the campus but I have almost no info on the program so I came across this forum:) I also applied to COC and GCC. already got denied at COC still waiting on GCC but super excited about Pierce cuz it was high on my list

@DollyP I think we are all having a hard time believing you since we had misleading info from pierce nursing department. If you screenshot the email maybe and cross out your name and stuff and post it here maybe they will believe you!

But congrats by the way!

Maybe we are alternates? But this is kind of weird since nobody else received anything. What were your stats if you don’t mind me asking

How is it possible for Pierce to tell some applicants that they will be notifying students this week or next week, but have already sent acceptance letters to other applicants? It either means they are completely unorganized, misleading, & mysterious, or someone is really bored....

I am not really sure what to believe, but I will call Pierce tomorrow and see if I can get some clarification.

Either way... congrats on receiving acceptance and good luck to the rest of us!

I don't know if we've all been getting information from the same person but I when I go into the nursing department to ask questions or call the 719 number it is always the same woman and I've neither seen nor talked to anyone else from the nursing department. I know I didn't describe her well but if the rest of you know who I'm talking about and can confirm that you've been getting info from this same woman, then I think at this point it is safe to say that she's probably not a reliable source. I don't mean to throw any shade at her and I wanna believe that she's been given conflicting info as well which is why we keep getting different answers, but I think it's best that we try contacting someone else from the nursing department. I know that there is a counselor that works very closely with the nursing department and they also have the contact info of the Chair of the nursing department on the webpage so I'm going to contact one of them tomorrow.

I finally got an answer from the Pierce nursing dept. Her exact words:

"We've started sending out letters to both the people that have been accepted and rejected. However, this will continue on until next week since we have so many to send out. So you can expect either an acceptance or denial letter any time from now until next week."

I guess that clears it up. Now to wait for an entire week and a half. Great!
