Hello everyone, I am finishing my last term at Seneca King Campus for the RPN program and I will do my best in regards to answering any questions you might have for this program! ;)

I just got my acceptance, I am so excited. I have a few questions if that is ok.

what does the first terms timetable look like? Did you pick your schedule or do you just get assigned one and have to like it no matter what?

How often do classes run past 4 pm?

how does the last semester work in this program and did it benefit you getting a job and so forth.

Congrats!

It's been a while since I was in the program so I'm 95% sure about my answers just not 100 lol.

From what I remember, the first two terms were the busiest. I believe you'll be either taking 5 courses or 6. All but one are pre picked for you and the last one is the elective where you are able to choose. I would just follow the instructions that they give you about "the next steps" where to pay for the tuition, register for courses and looking at your timetable.

There have been classes that run after 4 pm and it just depends on how they schedule the courses. Sorry can't give you a definite answer because it just really depends on how lucky you are.

The last semester will require you to do full time hours for clinical, for example, 40 hrs a week at clinical following your preceptor. The schedule will be based on your preceptor's schedule. I believe you will have to attend school a few times to do quizzes or tests and there is a minimum grade requirement to pass. By last term, you shouldn't be having too much trouble doing the quizzes or tests. Personally what worked for me was I studied really hard in the first two semesters to get my basic and fundamentals down and the rest of the program was a lot easier. Attend class especially at the beginning of the program and asks questions even if you feel that it is dumb. That's the best way of learning.

I would also advise you to save up a bit to make your life easier during the last term because it can be quite difficult to work full time hours as a student nurse and having to work at a part time. It is completely possible to work part time and do consolidation but you will be burning yourself out fast. Gotta take care of yourself first if you want to take care of others.

Would you mind telling me more about the final 520 exam?

Sorry it's been a while so I forgot the exact details but generally you will need to do roughly 400 clinical hrs and there were tests/quizzes that you need to go to school to write.
