Do you need a high mark for you to get in the program?
Sorry I didn't see the notices. This is really late but better late than never lol.

Hi, belated congratulations lol. I went to the King campus and I can only vouch for the King campus from my experiences. Clinical placements consisted of 5-8 students and one clinical supervisor. In my first clinical placement I was placed in a long term care facility in downtown and afterwards I was placed at NYG for my second and third placement. Initially, you might feel a little lost which is normal but with each term you gain more confidence and hands on experiences.
You will probably have 5-6 courses each term but you can take your electives in the summer which can reduce your course load and schedule.
Personally I didn't think the courses were hard but there was a lot of reading. As long as you keep with the readings and ask questions when you don't understand something then you should be able to get better. And it's ok not to do well, you just need to learn from it and get better.

I was a mature student when I applied and I didn't have the highest marks in high school or uni. I had like 77 from high school and 72 in uni I think.

if you start at king campus in sept when do you finish? are the semesters back to back?
If you take the summer term between year 1 - year 2, you can finish by the end of winter term 2nd year.

thanks, did you take their program? what did you think of it
Personally I thought the program was good. There were more good profs than bad profs at the time that I was in the program. The only issue was that it was an hr bus ride. At that time they only had that one old building but now they have a new building on campus.

thanks, can you please let me how much group work you do? I am really torn between Seneca and Mohawk. I was told Mohawk is a serious amount of collaborative learning and I am not a fan of that and don't think I would learn well if its all group work. I have the worst of luck so I am worried I would be stuck with the student that don't really get the content.
Can you please tell me more about the structure of the program?
I think you can't really avoid group work in nursing. I don't quite remember the amount of group work but roughly a group assignment for every nursing course. My advice would be to decide on a program based on location, financial situation and possible clinical placements.
Structure is generally you do 4-5 courses and go to clinical once per week. There is also a lab every term where you practice the techniques and you will be evaluated a few times throughout the program.
I think I expressed that incorrectly. I get I will be doing group work and I have no problem with one or two assignments each class, I just don't want it all to be learned by group work. Some is fine, but I don't want group work for every course on all topics as I was told this one school is.
However I have have found that this explanation is not accurate. The school in question is lead based learning with some lectures, some group and some independent study, so its all good.
Thanks everyone
