Today is my last day at this school! I start at the new district on Monday! I'm pretty excited. I have worked here 4 years. To be honest, I'm not really close with anyone here, so I don't feel as though I am leaving friends behind. Except one of the other nurses in another building. I will be missing her!
My students have a short day and I will be using a 1/2 personal day to leave at 11am! 3 hours to go...
Thanks for the kind words! I haven't had a chance to comb through the posts on here this week yet... Maybe after the kids are in bed!
The job is going well! Obviously, I have met a ton of people and I will remember none of their names. The school is over 1000 students. I must have seen 60-70 today, including all the daily meds/procedures.
I'm getting used to their charting system (e-school) and the nurse that came in to train me today called me a rockstar several times and said that she didn't see any need for her to be there. My supervisor was there with me for most of the day yesterday and was full of compliments. It's nice since my previous administrators always seemed very insincere with praise.
I haven't gotten the whole story, but the nurse who was at this building before left in December when she was given the option of resigning or being terminated. :yikes: For the last month they've been trying to make sense of her piles of paperwork and trying to get in action plans and med forms that should have been on file from the beginning of the year. So the nurse who was there with me today was doing a lot of organization to get me rolling.
I was telling my direct supervisor how I like to keep things organized (excel spreadsheets, certain binders, ect) and she said she is thrilled because she is super organized also. I think it will be a good fit!! :)

I am kind of jealous. I have the traffic but not the meds/procedures. Which is what I like.
Not bad jealous, more "wish I was right there with ya!"
:)
