Hey I was wondering if anyone else has applied to Langara Nursing. I have a 2.9 GPA and I'm afraid that might not be enough to get in:(. Does anyone know of anyone or got in with a GPA around there? thanks

Hi guys!! I've been looking for a thread for Langara 2015 since way back and I didn't know there was one until now. Congrats on getting in! I also got in! I was scared I wouldn't get in because I only did the minimum 15 credits! I did get a 3.2 gpa so hopefully that helped. How many credits did you guys do to get in?
Also is anyone down to trade some contact info, was thinking of starting a facebook group page for our set lol, wanna make some friends now because I don't know anyone else lol.
Hey I had 30 credits when I applied and congrats on getting in aswell:)
nice did you do them at Langara? also have you completed all of the requirements like the criminal background check, immunization form, and mask test?
I've done everything except for the fit
test, wbu? And no not langara I'm from the okanagan
same! I contacted the guy they provided who does the fit testing, he said he's in a pickle because individual students are contacting him for a testing but it's more convenient for him and cheaper for us to schedule a group fitting at the college, but apparently the college is not setting this up for him. He suggested we contact all the students but we won't be in touch with any of our classmates until January.
Also I contacted the nursing department head and she said we don't need to worry about the fit test until classes start so hopefully it works out in January.

I did my mask fit testing at Link2Life around Victoria and Hastings. It only takes fifteen minutes. For the immunization form, where do we hand it in?
how much was that fit testing? do they just give you a certificate or an actual mask?
The immunization form we hand in directly to M****** B*******, in the School of Nursing - Room B148s. The adviser said to leave it with a staff member if she's not in or slip it in under her desk, and to also make a photocopy for our own records.

Masks are single use only, to be disposed of while still in a patient's room. They're rather like breathing through several layers of a very thick blanket. The fitter will give you a card with the size of your mask printed on it. For example, the mask I wear is an 8210. Before I added a few pounds, I wore an 8210S.
The fit testing was $35. You get a card with your name and type of mask, and you get to keep the mask you tested.
