Hi!

It's super early but I wanted to start a thread for those planning to apply to Langara for the Fall 2017 intake!

I am finishing one last prerequisite and will be applying as soon as applications open in November.

Who else is going to apply to this intake?!

Only a few more days until the deadline and we'll be hearing back in March/April! So nervous!

Yesss,I honesty wish they could tell in a week, the wait is such a tease !!

Deadline has passed! Good luck to all of us!

Hi everyone!

I also applied for this intake with a 3.6. I'm really hoping it's a high enough gpa. Your guys' gpas are fantastic . Now we wait.

Hey Tina, I also applied with the same gpa!

Has anyone applied at other schools? I hear BCIT has a really good program

I applied to douglas college psychiatric nursing for Fall 2017 and I received my seat offer this monday!

That is so exciting! Congrats!! My friend took that program and loved it and is now working as a psych nurse :)

That is so great to hear! It was my first choice school and first choice program. It is something I am very passionate about. This is good news for all of you guys though because if I do receive an offer from Langara I will not be accepting it!

Congrats on your acceptance into the Douglas program!

I looked into taking that program actually myself as I'm really passionate about mental health/ outreach. Riiiiiight before they changed the requirements the NF courses. I just need to finish the 2 pathos, but I hear the wait after that is really crazy too, so I haven't bothered. congrats again! We def need more psych nurses that's for sure :)

No they have actually changed it so the wait in between finishing your pre-reqs and getting in to second year is only 1 or 2 semesters. The general nursing program at douglas will take a while to get their because they didn't put a cap on the AF for potential nursing students until after they had a back log. So they have another 3-4 intakes before the backlog is gone. The AF for potential psych nursing students had a cap put on it right away to avoid the backlog right from the get go.

I finished my last two courses this Fall 2016 semester and I was accepted for Fall 2017 so I only have to wait 2 semesters before I start again.
