Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.
Thanks!
Ok so that's like a month before the class starts, I'm taking chemistry and its kicking my butt, I took a hard professor because it fit in my schedule, I'm afraid that I will only make a C and I'm worried that will hurt me, this will be my only C. I can drop and take it in the summer but it will be done on July 12th, which may be too late for Tulane:crying2:
Another week down and nothing... Anyone else hear any good news recently. I spoke with the tulane people last week and they said early April. Im not really sure who/what to believe anymore. I saw where pinkpokadots posted earlier that last year BR applicants got their letters in april (which is 5 months before the sept start date) and Matairie applicants got their letters in May (which is 4 months before the start date). Now if my math serves me correctly, it is april now and Tulane campus starts in 3 months. It's just not fair. Plus BR found out in March this year, giving them 6 months (half a year) worth of notice. Rant complete.
nevermind! i went ahead and called. The lady said it will be before the end of the month. sheeeesh this is getting old! I bet they have more people decline because of how long they are taking and they have probably already been accepted into other schools by now!
I got into an UAMS in Little Rock and I am thinking that I want to go ahead and confirm that I will be going there. The program is a little longer, but cheaper and they seem way more organized. I know its further from home, but I would have to move anyway considering I live in BR and never even got a letter from them.
To be completely honest, the rate of failure at OLOL accelerated scares me as well. I keep reading about classes where 50 go in and 18 make it all the way through the first time around.
