Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

Published

Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.

Thanks!

@pinkpodots... So did they automatically do ur app for both schools from ur one fee or did u pay for two different applications.

Yeah I'm curious about this too... I didn't get anything from baton rouge. By the way the application looked, I thought I would have been considered by all... But surely BR would have sent me an acceptance/rejection/waitlist letter. I would have paid for a whole other application for each campus if I had know this was going to happen!

curiouskaypee, I am doing well! I am sure I'm not the first to tell you that this program is emotionally, physically, and psychologically draining!

When I applied, my heart was set on the Baton Rouge campus; however, I didn't care which program I got into as long as I was given a spot. I only sent in one application, and I checked the box that said, "consider me for the other campuses if not admitted into my first choice." Well, I didn't get into the Baton Rouge campus, and I gave up hope of getting into this program until East Jeff sent me a letter 3 weeks later.

I spoke to a lot of people in my class who were saved because they checked the "consider me for other campuses" box also. There were a few people who got admitted to multiple campuses and ultimately got to pick where they wanted to go in the end.

Wow...from other post I didn't think they actually used the other option that people selected. Thanks for the info and when will u be finished??

Did u check to apply to the others if u didn't get into your first choice sugrad?

Yes...I did....hopefully I will hear from the others since im an alternate in BR!!! What about u did u do the same???

I put tulane as first choice bc it started first and checked to be considered for the other two as well... Only prob is I didn't get anything from BR at all when y'all got letters

I wonder if u didn't get anything from BR bc Tulane never selected yet....hmmm this is interesting. I'm not sure what they do

Pinkpokodots- you are almost to the finish line, congrats! :dncgbby: I'm so freaking envious, but glad to know someone making it through

I chose Tulane first than East Jeff, at this point I just need a spot, I could care less where I go! I guess this is a test of my patients b/c it just really seems odd that tulane didn't send letters first since it begins first.

If they would have already made decisions then it will be no need to create a recording folks wouldn't be calling, I know that has to be aggravating, I mean really May, the dern program begins in July, that's like receiving your acceptance then you immediately got to jump on the phone to secure a place to live, ugh I'm so aggravated!

curiuoskaypee: I know how frustrating it is, but there is nothing you can do but wait and think positive. If not, you'll drive yourself crazy. If you get into the Tulane campus, I don't think you'll have to worry about finding a place to live. A lot of people are going to be graduating in May from all the surrounding universities, so there will be plenty rental places available.

Thanks I will keep that in mind

When do the prerequisites have to be completed for BR, im asking because I'm trying to see about when they need to be done for tulane
