Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

Published

Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.

Thanks!

Hey everybody. I have been following this thread for about a week now. I have also applied to the tulane accelerated program, and like you all I am anxiously awaiting for what I hope to be my acceptance letter.

I did call about a month ago and of course asked about when we should be receiving letters, and the response was the beginning or end of April. I also asked about if they were still doing interviews, and as most of you know she did say that they no longer do the interviews as part of the application process.

So for what I only hope a couple of more weeks I am just sitting and waiting everyday!

Thanks so much to you all for the information you have provided. It is nice to know there are others out there in the same situation as me.

Adrienne1283- welcome to our forum, I hope we all get in and complete the program, it is so refreshing to have others to go through this as well, I just want May 2012 to be here already and we are focusing on graduating and passing the boards!

Lynn23 Will u be moving to BR or commuting back and forth from Lafayette? I stay in the area and if accepted was weighing out the options of moving or comutting....

Everyone else just keep the faith and remeber Good things come to those who wait!!!!!!!!!!!

@ sugrad10: I will be driving back and forth. I have a family here in Lafayette so we won't be moving. It is gonna be a long 10 months with how intense the program is and having to drive over an hour each way daily. But I can do anything for 10 months right?

When you applied for the Accelerated Program, did you also check the box that said to be considered for the Traditional Program as well? I did, but now I'm not sure if they even do that. Was I supposed to send an application for that program as well?

I did not ask to be considered for the traditional program. Based on the things I've read about the people who checked to be considered for all locations, I don't really think they are doing that. I would have thought if they were considering people for all locations the decisions would have to be done at the same time. I could be wrong, but I thought the students who got accepted into the traditional program have already been notified as well. Have you tried to call?

No, I didn't call yet, but I did email the lady I had been in contact with lately. I'm sure I already know the answer anyway lol. Oh well, my application for Baton Rouge General is going out today.

Good luck! Do you have any idea when you will hear something about that program?

Thanks! Last year, I heard something around the end of October, beginning of November, so I'm hoping it will be around the same time.

Ugh!!! Just venting my frustration with all this waiting:banghead:
