Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

Published

Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.

Thanks!

Nothing again in the mail

Since this is the last year for it, they should let everyone in, especially since most don't make it, it would suck that if someone who was less deserving got in then decided this is not for them and dropped out, and folks like us who are determined didn't get in, so I say everyone gets in, let what happens happens, because in the end the real ones will prevail! Sorry just had this on my heart and wanted to share, LOL!

I completely agree!! You know there will be people that drop out. It's in the statistics, they start with 40 and finish with 20! I just don't think it's fair for the ones who want it so much more, but I guess we really can't say that we want it more than someone else ya know. I really hope we hear something this week. I don't think I can keep waiting any longer! I feel like I'm losing my mind!

I really hope we hear something this week

this has to be the week, right? It is getting hard for me not to call again. I will be patiently waiting for today's mail!!

I'm hoping this is the week, but I really got my hopes up last week. My fiance' and I are hoping it is soon; she recently secured a job in Shreveport, where we live (She finishes nursing school in April). We are now waiting on confirmation from OLOL, so we can know if she needs to turn it down and start looking for jobs down there! In addition, my work wants to send me on a business trip to Chicago this summer. I have been holding off on the paperwork, because I don't want them to pay for this huge trip if I will be leaving my job for nursing school! Like we have all said, "Life is on hold"

I went schedule my classes today and my advisor said that it should be in about a week. Wether that is this week or next, I'm not sure, but I really hope she's right! I am so disappointed when there isn't anything in the mail. It seems that everything with me lately is filled with what ifs! What IF my husband doesn't gets his raise, what IF we don't get the house, what IF I don't get into nursing school! It's killing me! I hate having my life on hold.

That has to be hard not knowing if you will have to relocate or not! Hopefully we'll all know something soon!

Thanks for the update

This info is disappointing! I was hoping letters were already in the mail. Oh well, guess i'll be waiting another week or so!

Yeah I didn't even ask her about the letters, she just said that I should hear something in about a week. I was hoping they were mailed out as well. I am very tempted to call and see what they say.

I think you should call! LOL
