Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

U.S.A. Louisiana

Published

Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.

Thanks!

OLOL is the only school I applied to since it's accelerated. The other school I will apply to if I don't get in, isn't due until September. I sent my 3 letters, but I also applied last year while I was pregnant and didn't get in because my pre-reqs weren't done. I am taking three classes at OLOL this summer: Religion, A&P II, and Chem. Hopefully, they look at my other grades, too!

Did they tell you tthat's why you didn't get in, because I'm taking classes now that will be done by program start. Im worried now, I hope they look to see I'm enrolled now.

No, I had NO pre-reqs done. They couldn't tell how I would do in the program without any of those classes done. I know that's why I didn't get in. Stop worrying. I still have to take two classes this summer, too.

Oh ok. My heart sunk when I read that. I am freaking out way too much, my boyfriend said he didn't want to hear anything else about it until I get my letter, lol. I'm going to just chill out and focus on something else.

Yeah I'm stressing out, too. I'm trying not to think about it, but that's hard when it's basically your life on the line, ya know? At least I have my daughter and Mardi Gras to keep my busy lol.

I'm just gone try and let it go. Whatever happens, happens, that's all I can do because this is too much!

Hi guys!

I have been reading the forum for a while, and I finally decided to join the conversation. I have applied to the ASN Accelerated program for fall '11. I'm very nervous, too, because this is my first choice due to the short time frame. I know it will be intense, but I'm really looking forward to finding out if I'm accepted or not. I also feel like life is on hold until the letter comes. I promise I will post as soon as I get my letter. :)

Good luck to everyone!

:welcome: and good luck!

Welcome to our agony! :grn:

Welcome!

I called today to find out my advisor so I can schedule my classes for the summer and I was told that we should know within the month. They said it's taking long because of so many applicants!

YUCK! :barf01: this is what they told me earlier this semester when I called.

Ugh, does the mean good applicants or bad? April seems so far away!! Does anyone know the start date for any of the campuses?
