Hi. I am very interested in the accelerated ASN program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. Can anyone give me any information on this program? I've seen the information that is available online. However, I am looking for information from experienced insiders such as: getting accepted, true level of difficulty, etc. This will be a major career change for me, and I do not want to make a bad decision. I have a 3.6 gpa from SLU w/ AA in OSH and BA in Gen Studies. I consider myself a capable, hard working student but all I have heard is HORROR stories.
Thanks!
I only applied to the Baton Rouge program because I live here. I have a daughter, so driving too far is out of the question. I think they usually accept 30, at leasts that's what they told me last year. I got on the waiting list at BR General in January, but they didn't get to my number. I am taking one or two classes at OLOL this summer, so I'm hoping that will help me out. I really am not holding my breath about getting in because I have no faith that I will lol. That's why I'm applying to BRCC, which starts in the fall as well. I really hope we hear something before April though!
I don't know if OLOL has a waiting list, but others do so I wouldn't see why they wouldn't. I have to re-take physiology and I have to take Chemistry. Chemistry wasn't required when I applied other places, so now I need to take it. I was supposed to take those classes at LSU this semester, but things got screwed up and they purged my classes. I'm hoping since I need two more classes, that it doesn't ruin my chances.
I assume there will be a waiting list... Most threads from recent olol applicants mention a list. I think they are mainly to offset the applicants that realize they cannot afford it or get into other programs they apply to. With the amount of time it takes to hear back, I would guess that some people have much more time to have already heard back from other programs, allowing them to move on with their lives. On the other hand, I will "try" to wait patiently on the only school I applied to.

Good luck to you too lsupanda! which program did you apply to? or did you apply to all 3? I picked the tulane program just bc it started earlier, but now I wish I would have put the Baton Rouge one as first choice bc rent in NOLA area is outrageous! (I have a Labrador and require a yard) Does anyone possibly know how many applied/get accepted to each this time? I was told on the phone that "soooo many applied" and I should have asked how many was "sooo many". At first I felt like my application would be very competitive among others, but now I worry and feel the need to come up with a backup plan!
