Lack of reviews for nursing instructors

Published

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if someone could give me a reason as to why nursing professor/ instructors/ teachers do not have any reviews (at least that I can find) on sites such as Rate My Professor?

ratemyprofessor.com seem to have most instructors from most colleges I've looked up except for the nursing instructors. Is there a reason for this? Are reviews of nursing instructors not allowed on ratemyprofessor.com?

Maybe this question has been addressed before and has been answered? If so can someone please direct me to that discussion?

I have been trying to find information/ opinions on Western Iowa Tech nursing program as well as Southwest Tech nursing program. I am curious about the instructors. Is there a site that specifically rates nursing programs and instructors?

Again if this has already been addressed if someone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it :)

I've been reviewed on ratemyprofessor.com (as a nursing instructor). There's nothing I know of making nursing faculty "off limits" for reviews. I suspect the majority of nursing students just have too little free time and reviewing faculty isn't a priority for them.

Most of my classroom professors were on ratemyprofessor. None of my clinical ones were.

Pretty much much all of my nursing instructor, clinical, lab, and lecture, are listed on rate my professor. Must be your school, students not aware of /don't care about rate my professor.

Ok must just be the schools I've reviewed (from WA, TX, IA, and WI) for nursing instructors. These particular nursing programs have anywhere from a 79% NCLEX pass rate to 100% pass rate. Not a single one of them have been reviewed on ratemyprofessor.com Is there another review site that may be more helpful?

I am researching different nursing programs and would just like an idea of different teaching personalities. I know any nursing school will be hard. I'd just like a better idea of what I could be walking into (besides being able to read their NCLEX pass rates).

If I were to ask for reviews of these nursing programs from other students where would be the best board for me to post on? I do apologize as I know this has all been covered/explained somewhere. I just have not been able to devote enough time to searching for it.

If I wanted to ask for reviews/opinions of instructors for the nursing program at Western Iowa Tech would I post on a (the?) Iowa Nursing board? or is there more specific boards for me to post that on? Thank you for any advice/ help you can give me :D

I don't think ratemyprofessor is really on the mind of a nursing student...we kind of just accept the faculty we get as we have no other choice. I go to a great nursing program with great professors and you might find one on that site...it doesn't mean the professors aren't great though! I only visited ratemyprofessor for my associates degree as I had like 4 professors to choose from...

Hi,

You are not alone in this. I have struggled to find my nursing professors (especially the horrible ones) on rate my professor and any other rating sites such as Uloop etc... I even tried adding my professor to Rate My Professor but it said she already existed for my school, which I find confusing because I do not find this professor's reviews for any of the nursing courses she "teaches". This is how it is for most of my nursing faculty.

I'm not sure how helpful this would be.  Most nursing students have little choice on their professors, as these programs tend to be highly regimented.

THIS.  I loved being able to pick my professors in my prenursing classes. Nursing school you don't get a choice. You go where and when they tell you to.
