Good luck to you as well! I'm sure you'll be getting it soon :) and hopefully one day we will be working at the NICU together, its one of the units I dream of being on too
Ya that would be great if we both got to work in NICU together! Btw, was the second interview similar to the first one? Let's keep in touch!
My first interview (service exam) was extremely short, we really just discussed my work history, a little about the areas I am interested in and then she gave me information on pay and the recruiters at all the facilities so I could contact them once I received my results.
The second interview was the situational questions and behavioral questions that are typical of nursing interviews, or at least the one's I've been on as a new grad. It lasted maybe 30 minutes it wasn't too many questions or anything overwhelming. I think having a couple nursing interviews under my belt by the time I did this one really helped me understand more of what they were looking for in nurses.
definitely lets keep in touch! especially if we are the same hospital, big as it is!
Sounds great! Thank you for all the info! Take care!!

I also got a call last week re a med surg position. However I already got hired in a Versant Residency program, so I did not reply to the med/surg position at County. I wanted to ask Kristy W, are they hiring full or part time? I think I'm going to call and ask if they hire any per diem since the Residency will be full time.

Kristy.W Thanks so much for sharing your experience here, it sounds like it went really quickly for you! I have my interview at Harbor next Friday and I am excited/nervous about it. Did they give you any idea how long the background check would take? Good luck on your new job!
I have an ADN (with a BA in another field), does anyone have a feel for if County will hire ADNs? I know they used to, but I am not sure if they are also trying to go BSN only.

Thanks RNTriathlete, it did go really fast perhaps overwhelmingly fast but I am thankful all at the same time. They did not say how long the background check would take they said its different for each person so its hard to give a good time frame, from what I have read on other threads it can sometimes take a couple months, I hope that it doesn't but we shall see...
Good luck with your interview! You will do great, I am not sure that County is as particular as other hospitals in the area. Let us know how the interview goes :)
Hi Kristy! I forgot to ask you how long after you received your letter did they call to schedule the second interview? Also did they hire you on the spot? Just wondering, thanks girl!
After I got my letter that I passed, it was about a month before I got the interview for an actual position. They did not hire on the spot, the people interviewing were managers on med/surg units but they were not necessarily one's hiring. The HR recruiter did not have a time frame for when I would hear a response but said as soon as a decision was made as to whether I would be offered a position or not I would receive notification. But I got the call a week later that I was hired.
Don't stress it will happen! :)
Thanks for the response! Have a wonderful weekend!
Hey guys I got my letter today... And I passed! Woo hoo! Good luck to everyone! :)
