Lab Epectations for A&P1 & Chem?

Published

What can I expect for Lab? Can anyone give me a rundown on what goes on and how/what you are tested on? I start both in Aug and am trying to get a heads up on what goes on....if anyone has good sites to refer to, that would be great as well. Thanks!

Actually it differs on how you learn best.

I am primarily an audio/visual learner, so I find animations and lectures on the web along with self quizzes, record lectures, take notes and the like.

Some people do well with flashcards and coloring books, taking pictures of the various lab components during lab class, etc. Its just a matter of what kind of study habits work for how your brain is hardwired. Flash cards do nothing for me, but help a lot of people. Same with the coloring books.

I'm finding the coloring book has helped me some.....I also have the flash cards but have yet to use them...I have been looking at websites....I also like the one at MSN....I have been taking some online test, etc getting myself prepped.....I still have a heavy summer load but finish Math next week and hope to really buckle down w/A&P.

I agree, we will need a study group for the fall.....we could even start in a wk or so if you guys want....I actually saw somewhere, where everyone would post 5-10 things on a subject matter and it's definition or something related to, such as Mneumonics for the certain body parts or muscles,etc.....anything to help remember the harder sections.

Anyone else taking Chem & Chem Lab in the fall?

we never had the coloring book,

we went to the BODIES exhibition in fort lauderdale fl,

and tomorrow we are opening and studying sheep brains, and eyes,

and then we have grown up pig heart's

andthen cats!!!

The early study group sounds good to me. Oh and me me on the chemistry with lab in the fall also.

I'm taking chem with lab right now. The labs are a bit boring, but i'm not really into adding a couple things in a vial and watching it to see if anything happens. last time we put a couple things in a crucible and then watched them burn off under the bunson burner (sorry spelling i'm in a hurry to leave for lecture), it was basically 30 mins standing around staring at it. My lab partner said a&p 1 lab was kinda boring, but is enjoying labs in a&p 2

good luck!

Thanks dallet6! I'm not to fond of just mixing a few things uo either bu am interested in the dissecting part....should be an interesting course.

I am taking Chemistry and Anatomy in the fall and both have labs. At my school, they split Anatomy and Physiology up. I will take Physiology in the spring because it has a pre-req of Chemistry. I've taken Anatomy before and did well, but I haven't taken Chemistry since high school. Good luck to us all!
