LA Pierce College Fall 2020

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello! I applied for the Fall 2020 cycle at Pierce. I just wanted to have a place to discuss it and also to see how everyone’s application process is going.

Just now, JVBO said:

I bought the pocket prep too and the study booklet thing. How much is the Khan one? Do they give you good explanations? So far I’ve finished reading and math. I’m starting the science section on the books tomorrow.

I just watch the khan videos, I noticed a dramatic improvement on my scores. Knowing the body systems is important and it goes through that very well.

Anybody else take the TEAS before submitting the application? I'm not sure if we are supposed to get an email as well confirming they got our score. Also, for those of you about to take the TEAS, I studied off of the Mometrix yellow book, I bought the practice exams from the ATI website and studied off of my old anatomy/physiology notes since the endocrine system was a decent chunk of the science section. If you have any other questions about the TEAS I'd be happy to answer them! ?

Samieg98, how did you send your TEAS score? They wanted it sent by email but I have no clue how to do it

You just request to send it from the ATI website! That's the only way to get the "official document" sent to the school and I believe they send it via email to the school.

I have been studying off that book as well. I also got the ati book and 2 practice tests from the actual site. Also using my A&P notes. Other than the endocrine system, is there another system they really go into? I’ve heard the nervous system is a lot of the test too. Thanks!

you should know all the systems very well, they ask specific questions about the systems, Khan academy videos go through these topics very well.

buy the ati TEAS pocket prep, the additional practice problems help a lot.

Anyone here getting ready for the TEAS on the 28th? I was able to reserve a spot on sign-up genius but I could not select LAPC as a site on the ATI website?

Unless we only create an account on the ATI website and reserve our spot on sign-up genius? Anyone know an answer to this? Thanks

I do have the pocket prep (got that before receiving the email) just in case. Love it it’s great and I always watch the khan academy videos, they are very helpful! Thanks

I am taking the TEAS on the 28th at Pierce. You sign up to take the test on the sign up genius. On the ATI website you just set LAPC as your institution.
