LA General New Grad Program 2025

UPDATE: Changes: New Log In Requirement

Hey Everyone , 

I just received an offer from LA General, I haven't gotten the details pertaining to start date but I believe it will be in April from what I was told during my interview. I want to connect with anybody else that is set to start here keep each other updated!

Hi everyone,

I just got a call from ONA, and the worst case scenario I was anticipating came true. As of four days ago, there is a HARD FREEZE on hiring with no anticipated end in sight. I had received my banding letter (band 1 with 100%) and was waiting to be contacted for an interview.

That means that nobody, new grad or otherwise, will be offered jobs.

As an MDA scholarship recipient, I am *contractually bound* to accept any position offered by the County for the next *18 months*, and I am positive I am not alone in this boat. I was told that, if or when hiring unfreezes, I would be contacted first for a position.

Condolences to all who were hopeful. If you didn't receive a scholarship, though, know that envious of you, as I did not apply anywhere else, and would necessarily need to drop out of any other new grad position or job I found later down the line (or pay the County thousands of dollars back.) They're really serious—look elsewhere if you haven't been offered a job, NOW.

I was one of the people who got the email regarding open positions with L&D, PICU, NICU. Interviewed earlier this week for NICU nights. I was one of the last people to interview per the manager and that a decision would be made that Tuesday. Was wondering if anyone who's had interviewed for the NICU received an offer letter yet?

hii! I interviewed for the nicu last week but have not heard back yet, hoping we hear back soon 🤞

I did but right after I accepted the offer and did my live scan, the hiring freeze started so I still have the job, I just have to wait to start until it's lifted. I was supposed to start Sep 2 but now they're hoping for Nov 15th I think?

Oh I see! I have an upcoming interview and was surprised I got one due to the hiring freeze! Please let me know if anything changes and may I pm you about the live scan

Yeah ofc!! Does anyone else have any updates abt the freeze? Bc like I got an ER position and Ik they need nurses there so like huh? 😭

Hey! By any chance what floor are you interviewing for? I was going to call to ask if they still had interview slots by any chance.
