Hey Everyone ,

I just received an offer from LA General, I haven't gotten the details pertaining to start date but I believe it will be in April from what I was told during my interview. I want to connect with anybody else that is set to start here keep each other updated!

I was looking towards possibly getting an interview, but I got a really good new grad position at Long Beach Memorial! It's much closer to my house and I did my clinicals there. I really hope that you enjoy the NICU! You'll likely start if not the 16th or March, then either April 1st or 16th. They only start on the 1st and 16th of the month.

CONGRATSS!! What speciality will you be in? Im sure the pay is probably better than the county and from the looks of it it'll be an April start. I haven't done my health screening yet they haven't emailed me about it. Hopefully it's the 16th LOL after my birthday which is on the 13th

Has anyone had experience interviewing for LA general med surg position for new grads? I would appreciate any insight please 🙂

I applied on Feb 12th for the Registered Nurse I/Relief Nurse link. I have not heard any offer for interview except for correctional health. Do we get a different interview for New Grad Residency position or will we receive an offer from a unit when there is an opening? I'm hoping to work any medsurg floor.

Have you contacted them to see what openings they have currently? That's usually the best way. Did you send your initial email with your band results , 3 specialties you are interested in working in with your nursing license and resume? There's a process you have to follow in order to get contacted for interviews. It's not a different interview for new grad it's simply just reaching out weekly or every two weeks seeing which floors are hiring after you send that initial email.

Thank you so much for replying to me! I was never instructed about checking-in regularly. 😞 I just sent an email again to clarify. I applied to the link that was given to me by the recruiter. I did the assessment. I got my result. I received one offer interview and that was it. I didn't get any instruction to email my top 3 specialties and resume. Which email add do you reach out to?

I sent my initial email to the general recruitment email then reached out to follow up with my email I ended up getting a great recruiter told him what I wanted within a week he reached out to me about an opening in my second choice NICU , I wanted L&D as first choice I interviewed and got NICU just waiting to start it's a process though it's better to bug them. I have inserted pics of how to do it. Hope this helps and good luck!

The application is the same for UCLA and LA General it's on the government jobs website relief nurse/registered nurse. After you get your results you email each hospitals recruitment email
