The application is the same for UCLA and LA General it's on the government jobs website relief nurse/registered nurse. After you get your results you email each hospitals recruitment email

Yes I am starting at LA General for the April cohort I went with them instead due to it being the actual speciality that I wanted. (NICU) Since they use the same HR department it's backed up and I'm assuming they are getting Aprils cohort out the way this month and will get you guys going next month I've heard how slow Harbors process is though. After you health clearance you should receive the online in processing packet and thats when you do the benefits stuff and get the start date and intake date that's just the information I received in my email from my recruiter on the next steps. You should receive your band results after 1 day to a few days at least for me after that you reach out to them. On the LA general thread here I put the detailed instructions on how to reach out to both Harbor and LA gen to get an interview.

I think because your in Mays cohort things will kind of on pause for you as they get the ones starting before you cleared. That seems to be their pattern, I am going to LA general and start next month and they are finally moving quickly to get everything completed before the start date. I did my live scan on feb 22nd it just got cleared today and I was contacted a couple of hours ago for my appointment to do the health clearance.

I sent my initial email to the general recruitment email then reached out to follow up with my email I ended up getting a great recruiter told him what I wanted within a week he reached out to me about an opening in my second choice NICU , I wanted L&D as first choice I interviewed and got NICU just waiting to start it's a process though it's better to bug them. I have inserted pics of how to do it. Hope this helps and good luck!

Have you contacted them to see what openings they have currently? That's usually the best way. Did you send your initial email with your band results , 3 specialties you are interested in working in with your nursing license and resume? There's a process you have to follow in order to get contacted for interviews. It's not a different interview for new grad it's simply just reaching out weekly or every two weeks seeing which floors are hiring after you send that initial email.

CONGRATSS!! What speciality will you be in? Im sure the pay is probably better than the county and from the looks of it it'll be an April start. I haven't done my health screening yet they haven't emailed me about it. Hopefully it's the 16th LOL after my birthday which is on the 13th

I do enjoy babies! So I am definitely excited to start. I enjoyed my clinical rotation when I had NICU. Thank you for that outlook on it! Have you gotten an interview yet?

No the offers don't have the date of start. It is contingent upon live scan and health clearance. Some background checks take longer and health clearance. I got an offer from LA general and after my interview I got my offer on the 19th, I had an interview with them on the 13th so 6 days for contact after the interview, I then went and did my live scan and paperwork on the 20th now im currently waiting for my appointment for the health screening. For Harbor I had an interview that same week as LA general, my interview was on the 11th. They have yet to reach out and with an offer or denial, I called (this was before I got my offer at LA general) they said they usually make contact within 10 business days but I have heard from others that the managers are telling them to wait 3 weeks to hear back. It's also good to note that harbor process for hiring from initial interview has been taking 2-3 months sometimes longer. LA general has been overall quicker.

I second this, the questions were very simple I had one scenario question also, it was about prioritization, a baby is crying causing monitor to go off, you have a 8 am med pass due, a mommy needs a pump, and the phone is ringing what would you do first. Very simple scenario!

Yes super quick and no I'm not planning on taking the job for harbor I was just keeping my options open. I got hired for NICU which is in the realm of the speciality I wanted, (L&D) So I'm happy with that plus I did have clinicals at LA general and loved it the nurses were very supportive. I love the fact that LA general is moving quicker LOL I am more than ready to start working.

Harbor UCLA definitely takes a while somebody I know interviewed with them and they told them it'll be 3 weeks before they find out if they got the job. I did an interview with them the same week as LA general. On the 11th for harbor and 13th for LA general and I've already received my offer letter and live scan so far just waiting on my health screening appointment I did my live scan last Thursday.
