Is anyone applying for Fall 2016? Has anyone here attended the information session for Fall 2016 applicants? If so, can you provide some details as to what is was about. I was not able to attend.
Wow a 90 that's great. Can't see how you won't get in. Did you apply for the Lvn to Rn or the basic 2 yr program
Thank you! My first choice was CSULB, but I got rejected. But I'm not so down because I hear so many positive things about County.
I applied for the basic RN program! I'm hoping to do the collaboration program with CSULA to get my BSN.
So does LA COUNTY have a collaboration program? I didnt attend the info sessions and I dont see anything on their website. I know most of the community colleges in the area do.
Yes, LAC does have a collaboration program with CSULA. Basically, the whole program takes about 3.5 years to complete if we get selected to be a part of the collab program. I went to the info. sesh and they said that the program is very competitive, and they only select about 8 students.
You know I heard the same thing about it being very competetive to get in at GCCs info session, but my friend who is in the program at GCC said most students got in... we'll see how it goes. I really want to be in the collab program
Yeah! I met someone who got into the collab program from LA trade tech. She said just basically keep your grades up and you will get selected.
I heard that in order to get into the collaboration program you must have completed all the general education classes as well as maintain a high gpa. And that you do some courses at CalState LA during the summer/. and once you complete the RN program it takes another year to complete the BSN program. Is this info correct?

At the info sesh, I was told that doing the collab program would take 3.5 years and we do have to take courses over the summer.
As for the GPA, we have to maintain a competitive one because they only select 8 students (that's what I was told). I'm not sure if your GEs can be in progress.
I just heard back from CSULA SON, so I will be accepting that offer and giving up my spot here at LA county if I get admitted.Goodluck to everyone :)
Congrats!! Wow Calstate LA SON is so hard to get into.. I applied but got rejected they said I could get in if I change my major to Nutritional Science.. I also have 90 points with A's in anatomy, physio, and Micro but still got rejected so you must have been doing something right!!
Congrats again And Good Luck!!☺ï¸
