I decided to create this post because I haven't seen any updated threads that relate to the Fall 2015 applicant pool. I'd love to hear from some of you out there who may have also applied so we can begin communicating with each other any updates, info, thoughts, and feelings as this is such a long and anxious process.
A bit of info about myself, I am currently attending elac, I am done with all my prereqs, this is the second time I am applying. I didn't make the cut last term (spring 2015) because I didn't have the points for speech and political science so I did them over winter, although I still don't think they will count because the grades weren't posted before the deadline! The only thing that i did extra with my time that I had proof for was Volunteering at the County Hospital in the ER, so I'm hoping that counts for something..
I have also applied to LACC, LASC, PCC, Rio Hondo, Citrus, Cerritos, but county is definitely my number 1 choice!
I am also anxiously waiting, IcAlled this morning and Ericka said that they would be mailing letters soon. That they are still reviewing applications, she was not sure what the cut off points were going to be for this year. She did say that they are accepting 20_25 students... I'm happy for those who have been accepted!! Let's keep each other posted.
Oh man thank you gghoney!! I feel relieved I'm not the only one who needs some practice! I've been working in specialties the last few years! My whole way home today I kept saying "oh my gosh I haven't been on the floor in years!"
Hello everyone! I applied for the basic RN program. I know it says they will mail out letters on May 15th, but it looks like people in the LVN program are getting phone calls as well? I hope I get that call!!!!
Hi all LVN-RNs that got in! I got the good news 3 days ago.... So surreal! I guess I better start watching skills on youtube. I haven't worked at all in 4 years and not on a floor in about 7! There's gotta be a better word for me, rusty doesn't cover it!!
Hi tylersrain! Congratulations! Well it's a relief to know that there's a few of us that need to brush up a bit! To make myself feel better I keep telling myself that in a little over a year from now we'll be done!
I know, right? I can't believe it will only be two semesters.... It's gonna fly by! I wonder if we can get our hands on a copy of the skills checklist, so we can focus our refreshing?
Hi! Congratulations to all who have been accepted! I'm an LVN who just got in as well and it feels SO good to know that I'm not the only VN who hasn't been on the floor in a while. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back from the school!
