L.A County College of Nursing Fall 2015 Applicants

Published

Hello Everyone.

I decided to create this post because I haven't seen any updated threads that relate to the Fall 2015 applicant pool. I'd love to hear from some of you out there who may have also applied so we can begin communicating with each other any updates, info, thoughts, and feelings as this is such a long and anxious process.

A bit of info about myself, I am currently attending elac, I am done with all my prereqs, this is the second time I am applying. I didn't make the cut last term (spring 2015) because I didn't have the points for speech and political science so I did them over winter, although I still don't think they will count because the grades weren't posted before the deadline!:grumpy: The only thing that i did extra with my time that I had proof for was Volunteering at the County Hospital in the ER, so I'm hoping that counts for something..

I have also applied to LACC, LASC, PCC, Rio Hondo, Citrus, Cerritos, but county is definitely my number 1 choice!

I look forward to hearing from you all soon

Hi!!!! I just wanna say good luck to everyone applying... We are halfway thru our first semester and to be honest, nursing school isn't as bad as everyone makes it!!!! ;P im so glad I chose la county it's awesome... If anyone has any questions plz feel free to ask!!!

Hi righteousjenn,

I remember you from a previous thread when you applied for spring.. Im glad to hear everything is going well! :)

Im really hoping I get accepted for fall, but that might be over reaching since last time they said I didnt have enough points :( There was nothing I could do regarding my grades since taking repeats would affect the other schools (not that I have a bad gpa, but its def not 4.0).. Im just really nervous and Im hoping they really consider my volunteer hours as an honest effort in my interest..

How has your experience been so far? :)

Hi guys, I also applied for the LVN bridge. Just mailed in my questionnaire yesterday!

righteousjenn I wanted to ask what clinical site you chose and how you like it? Do most people get the site they wanted?

I got LA... If you chose olive view you do your first semester of clinicals at lac usc then for second u go up there... I don't think anyone had a problem getting in based on their chosen site... I think there's was little more than 60 of us when we started

I love lac usc... It's a bit of a barrier if you do not speak Spanish though... Which I do not but u have classmates or ur instructor to help if u need it
