Kwantlen nursing january 2015

Published

Hi!

I'm starting this thread for all of us that are applying to the bachelor of science in nursing at kwantlen for january 2015. out of high school or transfer students!

Please reply if you're one of them!

I am. I applied for fall 2014, but got turned down. Hopefully the spring will bring better news. Good luck to all.

I just applied, though I don't really know what to expect. My University GPA should be around 3.55, which is unfortunately because of A&P. Without that, my GPA was 3.7 :) Amazing what a C can do to a good GPA. I'm hopeful that it is enough. Do they have quick turnaround on applications? I am likely to get into Douglas' Psychiatric Nursing program, but would still prefer an RN over an RPN.

Good luck to us.

You GPA is great. I am sure you will get accepted. I just got my offer today, and I only had a 3.44 GPA. However, you might need to upgrade that anatomy course because I think you need at least a C+.

If my Microbiology course that I got a B in counts for my Bio course for admission, the program continuance requirements only say that a cumulative GPA of 2.33 is required, with a grade no lower than a C in all required coursework. Soooo... I'm really hoping I won't have to take the class over again.

You got your offer for January intake, or September? The deadline isn't even here for the January intake... So, are they really slow?

Great. I was worried I needed a C+, but you are right.

September intake, I got declined at first, but they called me this morning to tell me I've been accepted.

Tell me how it goes.. Especially about the A&P if you are at a C too. I'm curious as to the program costs also. The admissions advisors only say that it's $40,000 for the 4 years. I would like to know how much I have to save up for the first year. :)

I am taking A&P next semester, but I can let you know later. As far as tuition and books, the first semester is $2800 and books $950. But this is including A&P, and you've done this already.

After I'm done the first semester I can let you know how it's going.

Yeah, I've taken A&P and University Writing. Second semester would be the same. Hopefully means a cheaper first year for me. :)

i've applied as well. The kwantlen websites said we are supposed to be receiving notice by the end of August but i think that is really inaccurate!! Some people have been getting offers of admissions only 2 months before the start of the program... My application status online still says under review so I'm not worried.... yet -_-

xoxkayytee, where did you find out that some people got their offers 2 months before starting the program?

i think it was a girl (or guy!!) earlier in the thread who said they got an offer like June 25th for the September semester! SO late!!! :/
