Ok, so I've kind of looked around the site, but I can't find what I'm looking for. I applied to the KSU accelerated nursing program for the Spring of 2012. Our applications, TEAS score, etc. already had to be turned in by May 31st. I was curious to know about how long they take to get back to you to let you know if you made it to the second round. I've got a 3.2 GPA right now, and I graduate from UGA in December with a BS in Psychology. I made a 91.3% overall score on the TEAS V. Does anyone have any idea about my chances of getting in? I took the TEAS without even taking A&P at all, but I'm taking it right now. Any advice if I do make it to the second round? I am CPR/First Aid certified and I have my CNA. Also, if anybody needs any advice about the TEAS, I'd be happy to answer some questions and tell you what I thought of it.
Thanks!
Hello, for those of us that never attended Kennesaw state before and are starting January for the accelerated program, do we have to sign up for Orientation via OwlExpress? It cost $50 and there are two sessions available. I don't think we would be able to register for classes without orientation. Please let me know.
@ayti its my first semester, I attended orientation but never registered for class at the orientation because all the classes were full but I was able to register at home during drop/add. So my point being you can register for class without attending the orientation. However, I would recommend you sign up for the orientation, it worths the cost and you do that online via owl express.
@Proms...that's the same thing I said. I hate 8am classes, my brain doesn't kick in until around 10...lol! But, I would rather have class early and have time to study during the day, otherwise, if I take my first class in the late morning/afternoon, I'll waste my morning hours. I'll just make sure I stop by starbucks on the way to campus to get my white chocolate mocha. I have to get my sleep schedule together, I am such a night owl, I stay up until like 2am regularly.
@lizyun
I am ok with you being in the traditional program. I’m not sure how you would want to go about everything. I’d like to kind of meet/get to know a little about a person before rooming with them, but I noticed you live in Florida. Have you talked anymore with the other person who was interested?
@seagreen No it's not online, the orientation takes place at ksu campus. It's gives you every information about ksu, financial aid, student organization, student ID, parking etc infact you even get your ID(look good bk there will be a photo shot!)and parking tag that day! Again, they pretty much take you around to get familiar with the campus which was helpful to me since ksu is a huge school compare to where I transferred from. The fun part of it was eating all you want at the COMMONS I made sure I ate atleast $40 worth of food! Lol #Don't miss the orientation, it was really helpful.
Hello everyone. I am a current accelerated student that began this Fall (August 2011).
I would HIGHLY recommend getting involved in your Student Nurses Association. As pre-nursing students, you are already eligible to get involved and be part of the organization, and its even better if you've already been accepted. Joining the National Student Nurses Association is only $35/year, has numerous benefits and includes membership at the state level as well (GANS - Georgia Association of Nursing Students). It is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills and will look great on your resume. You will definitely need to do things to differentiate yourself when you are looking for a job after graduation. Everyone that is admitted to the program is smart, but you'll need more than that to land a job post-graduation. So, please...get involved!

I am the current Publications Director for the state board for GANS. If you have any questions about getting involved in KSU's Student Nurses Associations (SNA), GANS or NSNA, please feel free to contact me: [email protected]
I look forward to meeting all of you in the Spring, if not sooner!

Hey everyone,
it's been a while. Just wanted to let you know that the schedule is out for Spring 2012 (Owl Express). From what it seems, if I can get in the sections I want, I'll only be in class M-W, that leaves Th & F to study ALL day, and for clinicals when we start. Also, M & W, I'll have free after 12pm to study. This makes me feel a little less overwhelmed. I'm thinking about taking research online because it is only offered on campus in the evening (5-7:45 or 6-8:45). I want to be home by then. Does anyone know anyone to ask if it makes a difference whether you take it online or on campus?
