Ok, so I've kind of looked around the site, but I can't find what I'm looking for. I applied to the KSU accelerated nursing program for the Spring of 2012. Our applications, TEAS score, etc. already had to be turned in by May 31st. I was curious to know about how long they take to get back to you to let you know if you made it to the second round. I've got a 3.2 GPA right now, and I graduate from UGA in December with a BS in Psychology. I made a 91.3% overall score on the TEAS V. Does anyone have any idea about my chances of getting in? I took the TEAS without even taking A&P at all, but I'm taking it right now. Any advice if I do make it to the second round? I am CPR/First Aid certified and I have my CNA. Also, if anybody needs any advice about the TEAS, I'd be happy to answer some questions and tell you what I thought of it.
Thanks!
Yay!! Congrats skyebrooke. @starlite Thanks for the link!! I also agree with you that wait til everyone has gone through the book... We moving to another house by January, I kind of like it because it will give me a fresh start off for the year 2012 but right now its overwhelming since I have to paint my room and all that. I'm on my way to Walmart to get a paint. I hope I get that off my shoulder so I can focus on the book...I haven't even started.
congrats @skyebrooke!!
@starlite1980 such helpful information!! thanks so much :)! i purchased 5th ed with cd for $37 but yes any edition works just fine. the test will have case study type questions where we will need to do the math to figure out how much to give patient etc..we can each bring a few sample questions from our text editions and work them out.
@Fanger33 yes you are all correct, there are rooms available on the 2nd and 3rd floor of Prillaman Hall. They are absolutely perfect with white board and flat screens (computer access i believe). we would need to bring our own markers...and request the key from the office on 3rd floor before 5pm. i also agree we should go through the book on our own before meeting up..mine will be here by weds..as time gets closer lets plan to meet up maybe once or twice between november to december...and maybe once again in january
i talked to someone today that suggested we focus more on pathophysiology bc math will be easy once you know which formula to use. whenever we decide to meet up we should spend some time on this too. i've found the best way for things to stick is to teach someone else. working together: we can learn the stuff on our own..meet up and take turns teaching how to go though a problem given a case...what do you think?
now i am looking for some patho notes!!
Yeah...I heard that "they" are cracking down on those wonderful patho notes that students distributed amongst themselves....LOL! I'm not sure if they are allowing us to get them anymore, but I know for sure that if we do get them, we don't need the text book. I was probably going to look for a study guide (on amazon or something) for that class. Patho is the hardest class the first semester...so I hear.
@ForHisGlory24
Perfect idea. Lets plan to meet up in those months to give everyone time to kind of look over things.I hate that they are cracking down on patho notes, just bc you have someone's notes does not mean you are going to understand it and pass anything without any hard work or reading the book. I heard one student was kicked out of nursing school because they were selling their recordings of lecture with their notes....I would not go that far, but any tips from prev students would be great.
@proms2009
I am kicking my self right now, bc I just bought my calc w conf yesterday....if only I had waited 24 hrs :)
Lol I know what you mean @forhisglory I just ordered a pink engraved littmann classic II SE for $74.49 from medisave.net. you also earn reward points towards your next purchases. I just thought you guys would need the information. I wish for littmann master cardiology III but there's gonna be a lot of expenses so I rather save and leave the cardiology for my family and friends to give me as a gift if they will even think of doing that hahaha
Welcome to the thread Lizyun and congratulations! @skyebrook, I really hope you get your letter on monday to save you the stress.
thanks proms2009!
@lizyunI was going to ask the same thing! I'm transferring from Georgia Gwinnett College and will be moving up to Kennesaw in January and thought it would be a good idea to room with another nursing student. Maybe we can get 2 or 3 others and rent out a 3 or 4 bedroom place!
AviatorDuck, yeah I am all for saving money! I'm going to be coming up from FL :)
@ Proms, I'm in Kennesaw if that would work and nobody else has it yet. Of course I'd pay to ship or meet you somewhere on campus. Just let me know! And I'm definately in for studying before classes start! Let me know what time everyone decides on.
Also, does anyone know for sure what type of verification they want of the classes we are enrolled in now? Will the transcript work? Thanks everybody!
