Hey! I couldn’t find a forum for the Klamath Community College nursing program. Applications will be coming due soon so wanted to see who all is applying and such.

Hello!

I am glad someone decided to start a thread. I will also be applying to KCC's nursing program this year! I am currently continuing to study for the TEAS, which I have scheduled for the 25th of March! I have heard many different opinions of this exam, which has me a bit worried on if I will pass or not. We will find out! I have also applied for OIT/OHSU nursing program, currently waiting on interview invitations. What about you?

Hey! I’ve also applied at OIT/OHSU, waiting as well. I took my TEAS back in November and I’m really happy with my score. I didn’t feel it was a horrible test. The science and writing sections are the hardest I think. Reading is easy and the Math section as long as you know how to convert fraction, decimals and percentages you will do fine ? I hadn’t  even finished 1 A&P class yet and I got a high enough score that earns me points so don’t stress too much.

That's good to here, hopefully I get a good test too! I am hoping to get a 70% or above, I have a 4.0 and have finished all my prerequisites so if I pass this test I am confident I will be good! So you will be finishing the first sequence of A&P in these following weeks? What is your grade so far, feeling confident in getting an A? Are you having an concerns with the application process or feeling good about everything?

I am finishing my A&P 2 this term I have an A currently. But I have a 4.0 GPA total and I have 48 points for Phase 1 at KCC so I feel pretty good about where I stand. As long as I don’t bomb interviews and essays. Have you spoke with Allison at KCC about interviews? It was super helpful to zoom with her she told me exactly the topics of the interview and essays so I could start thinking about my answers now.

Also Shoot for a 75% on your TEAS you will get points for 75% ?

That is great! We have the same amount of points right now, without factoring in the TEAS. Yes, I am definitely trying to get some points at least but if anything I'd be happy with just passing and being able to apply! Were you able to get volunteer hours, due to COVID I didn't even get close to 96hrs.. which was unfortunate. I haven't spoke to her since last year! Wow, that is awesome, I am surprised they are giving that away! Would you mind sharing that information with me? Are you going to applying as a Klamath student or Lakeview? To my understanding there are 3 spots reserved for Lakeview students, which reduces our opportunities to only 5 spots!

I have 1000+ hours I volunteer for my local high school as the cheerleading coach I’m I’ve been lucky I already had my hours before Covid it. I’ll be applying as a KLamath student. If you send me your email I’ll send you what Allison sent me that goes over everything.
