Hi! I have an offer to work in KINDRED hospital in any states I prefer. Does anyone currently working in any KINDRED hosptal? Or did anyone work in KINDRED hospital? So how is it working there? It is a good hospital? Are you well compensated? Please post your feedcak on KINDRED hospital. Thanks!

I have never worked in a Kindred Hospital; however i found it interesting that there are many, many listings for open postiions on the job seekers websites...kinda scared me!!

Bad rep in California. They are a Long Tern Acute Care facility so they can get around our mandated ratios, which means each nurse gets lots of patients....

no experience with Kindred from a nursing perspective, but my grandmother was a patient there for a while in FL.

not a good situation at all - dirty, bad ventilation system (place just reeked of mildew), waaaaay understaffed, o2 was broken, bedside electrical outlets didn't work. my gram was inconinent of urine and stool but they couldn't get an order for a foley nor did they have the staff to change her regularly, so she'd sit in it for hours at a time. scary stuff really... she was there for only a weekend, and then went to hospice thank god!

Interviewed with them in Houston a yr ago. My impression was that they're only able to attract foreign RN's who often don't complain about the bad working conditions and poor pt care. Ditto janony"s post about understaffing.

As I said before, my gioal is to get all the experience and CEUs I can get. I do not look at this is permanent. I am looking at all I can get from ICU, ACLE, 6 weeks of orientation to make me more marketable.

Your responses were certainly no surprise after working a 12-hour shifit for an agency.
