Kennesaw State University Spring 2020

Published

Hey guys, I recently just applied to the program for Spring of 2020. I would just like to share my stats with you guys hoping that you guys would do the same.

3.72 Overall GPA

4.0 GPA for 5/7 Science & Math Courses

4.0 GPA for 7/12 Pre-Reqs

80 TEAS Score

84.4/90 Competitive Score

I am a bit insecure about my TEAS score because it’s relatively a low score. What do you guys think about my chances of getting in? I am also a Minority Male and my counselor said that I have a competitive advantage above the majority of applications but I’m still a bit on edge haha. Also done with all my 12 pre-reqs after Fall 2019. What are you guys stats? I hope the best for you all and hopefully we will see each other in orientation this fall! Good Luck to everyone applying!

Yeah same here, Insecure about my TEAS. But I’m done with all my 12 preqs after fall semester. Only have Chem 1152 left. Idk lol I’ve gotten As on all my A&P and Micro classes so hopefully that’ll give me a competitive edge. My advisor also told me that minorities get a advantage lol. Good luck!

Yea it has to do with affirmative action I believe. I’m taking Micro with Chem 1 currently, hopefully I come out with all As. I hope we get in.

Hey everyone! I'll be applying for to KSU's traditional nursing program for the second time (I'm even more nervous applying this time around). I applied for the Fall 2020 nursing cohort and got denied (I had enough prereqs complete to apply, but I was still finishing up a few). Here are my stats:

4.0 Overall GPA

4.0 GPA for 5/7 Science & Math Courses

4.0 GPA for 7/12 Pre-Reqs

90 TEAS Score

88/90 Competitive Score

I've finished all of my nursing prereqs and this upcoming fall semester, I'll be finishing all my gen eds and the last two courses for my psychology minor. Hoping for better luck this time around. Good luck to everyone who is applying!

Wow. Nice stats! Why do you think they denied you the first time, you have stellar grades. I’m scared now lol nobody is safe.

I think it’s because I was still taking 3 classes and 2 labs when I applied! I was in A&P II + lab, Microbiology + lab, and Sociology. I actually emailed someone from the nursing program asking if this could be a reason I got denied or if there was any way I could’ve improved my chances of acceptance and they said that prerequisites were the reason! I’ve also heard that getting into the Fall program is harder because more people apply for Fall admission, which should hopefully mean that applying for Spring is less competitive. I had a feeling I wasn’t going to get in the first time I applied so that’s partly why I decided to minor in psych; I needed to give myself more classes to take while I was waiting to (hopefully) get in the second time I applied. Regardless, I’m excited to eventually start nursing school! Don’t psych yourself out about anything. If you get in the first time you apply, that’s awesome!! If you don’t, keep your head up! You’ll be a nurse one day and everything will be so worth it.

Hi guys I applied to the traditional program. I feel like my stats aren't very competitive because the B's I have made have been specifically in almost all science courses. I'm finishing Micro this fall, but other than that I have completed all of the prereqs.

Overall GPA: 3.73

TEAS: 84

5/7: 3.4

7/12: 4.0

Good luck to everyone!

Micro is pretty easy compared to A&P I & II. You got this! Finish strong!

Hey! I also applied for KSU's spring 2020 cohort, here are my stats:

Overall GPA: 3.81

TEAS: 82

Science GPA: 3.75 (minus A&P 2 which I just completed over the summer and Chem 2 which i'm taking in the fall)

I'm a bit weary about getting in and would definitely be surprised if I do, but fingers crossed! I'm about to take the TEAS for a second time, I took it without having A&P 2 which certainly brought my science score down. Oh well. Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know when in September we should here something? I'm starting to get nervous and discouraged? Everyone stats are so amazing and I'm starting to feel like I applied for fun. I don't want to retake the teas at all that test is hard as heck.

I asked and they said it should be either the start of September or the middle of September. And don’t sweat it, they accept a variety of students based on gpa range.

If it makes anybody feel better about their TEAS score, the average accepted TEAS score has been roughly 82% for the last few semesters to my knowledge. I believe the average entrance GPA is around a 3.5. However I do think they look more at grades than they do TEAS scores. I was rejected Fall 2018 with a 3.6 GPA and a 96 TEAS ( I was still completing quite a few science prereqs). But I was accepted Spring 2018 with the same TEAS score and a slightly lower GPA. I think the combination of Fall semester being more competitive than Spring and prereqs being completed helped me in the second go around. Just thought I would tell my story to hopefully share some insight into the experience. I know that it’s so stressful to wait until mid September but I hope all of you are accepted. So far nursing school is awesome and I hope you all get to experience it! Good luck!

My nerves are starting to get to me haha. May I ask what pre-reqs were you missing the first time you applied, because I am going to be done with the 12 required pre-reqs but I’m still working on some university pre-reqs like history and art. Thank you for the comforting words tho lol.
