Kennesaw State University BSN Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey you guys! I didn't see a thread for those applying to KSU for the Fall 2017 BSN Cohort, so I decided to make one. The deadline for applications is getting ready to come up and then decisions will hopefully be made shortly after, so I figured we could all be nervous and wait together :). On the other threads, people share their stats so I'll post mine below!

Overall GPA: 3.92

Best 5/7 Math & Science Grades: All A's

Best 7/12 Total Prerequisite Grade: All A's

TEAS Score: 92

Looking forward to interacting with you guys and distracting myself from classwork

Marissa!? Were you in Mrs. Logans A&P 2 class?

Elizabeth ~ I don't think this is a wait-list letter. It sounds to me as though you have a guaranteed seat as long as you finish your prerequisites and maintain your GPA by the deadline. Let us know, though. I am curious.

Have any of you guys taken (or know someone that has taken) the USG Legislative Requirement Exam? I want to take the US/Georgia History exam for the HIST 2111/2112 requirement, but I don't know what materials I need to study. On the website it says any college level US History textbook, but I would rather not read an entire textbook for a single exam. Would an AP US History Study Guide (like Princeton Review) cover most of the information I would need to know? I would like to exempt the HIST 2111/2112 class instead of paying to take it this summer! Any information would be helpful!

I was told by advising that we can take that class during our program. It doesn't have to be completed by start of program.

I wish I could post a picture of it or something I mean it says standby accaptance...idk it is weird hopefully they email me back soon with some answers. I will keep you guys updated. meanwhile if anyone knows for sure they are being waitlisted and wants to share what their application says it would be greatly appricated. I guess I was expectingit to say either accepted, waitlisted, or denied.

Oh I knew that we didn't have to take it by the start of the program; but since I will be paying tuition out of pocket, I figured it couldn't hurt to take a chance at the exam so that I could save some money and some time!

rho134 ~ I took those classes from Dr. John Mack. He happens to have a Facebook page called GPC Mack. He is really knowledgeable and approachable. If you sent him a note (if you are on Facebook) he would probably be able to point you in the right direction.

I'm in. Yipee! Let's do this

Hi everyone. I got into the traditional BSN program for this fall. So this was my second time applying, and my GPA is subpar (mainly from 10+ yrs ago). But I kept going, retook some classes I received C's in, finished all pre-req's, and retook the TEAS. I'm a returning student after 10+ yrs in the workforce. I was accepted into the GSU ADN program last year, but I wanted to wait one more semester to get into the BSN program. Hoping I can encourage anyone still waiting to get into the KSU program. It's an amazing school for sure. Both campus and programs. Don't give up! Keep trying, keep praying. It will happen in God's timing for sure.

GPA: 2.9

Science/math GPA: 3.6

7 pre-req GPA: 3.85

TEAS: 94.7% (previous score was 86.7%)

PS. I'm taking pathophysiology right now, and I've been able to maintain As in all my exams so far. I was told that the class avg was 75% after the first exam, which shows the difficulty of the course. If you're taking Patho next semester, I encourage you to review your A&P physiology and thoroughly understand the normal functions of a healthy body. Patho studies the "abnormality" of bodily functions, so you need to know what's normal to apply the abnormals.

Great work! Do you have another degree as well?

Congrats to everyone who got into the program. I'm a current nursing student here at KSU (accelerated), and this my first semester. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask! I know what it is like to have so many questions. Also, remember that orientation will help alleviate a lot of your concerns.

hmaccnm No I do not. I dropped out of school when I was a ways into Social Work back in 2007. Since then, I've been in real estate.

Congrats again, you're going to do amazing things!
