Hey!
Has anyone applied to KSU for the Spring 2014 program?
Not sure but I was told by the lady who was doing the followup survey assessment that there was 150 people interviewed in total. Supposedly, 40 out of 60 are chosen to be accepted into the accelerated program. So that leaves 90 people being interviewed for the traditional program.
Then again, this could all be wrong because based on the number of interview slots, there could only be 120 interviews in total (as pointed out earlier by JoannaSmith).
So this whole post could be useless but I figured I would share my thoughts on the matter

I hope and pray your post is accurate. 110 out of the 120 would be admitted.
The number 150 is probably accurate because although there were only 120 interview slots but there were students who applied for previous semesters who didn't have to re-interview.
For those that applied to the accelerated program do you mind sharing your stats?I have a 3.2 Overall GPA with a B.S. in Biology
3.8 Pre-req GPA
93% on Teas
I have around a 3.5 overall GPA with a B.S. in Animal Sciences
Not exactly sure what my Pre-req GPA is
91% on TEAS
Hey everyone! Had my interview yesterday. Is anyone else FREAKING out? I had a few questions that I felt gave me an AWESOME chance to express my feelings about nursing and how bad I wanted this..however, I got two questions that STUMPED me.
1. Tell us about a time you had a to pay attention to detail
2. Tell us about a time where you had to convey a difficult message to someone who had trouble understanding.
I seriously blanked, ya'll. Well, I definitely didn't BLANK because I did indeed talk about things and come up with SOMETHING, but those two caught me so off guard! I talked about paying attention to detail on exams (especially with my most recent Pathophysiology exam..one question could seem right but another is more correct) and then I talked about conveying a difficult message to my students when I was an AP1 supplemental instructor last fall and ways I had to get to know them personally to understand their learning abilities in order to convey it in a way they would understand best.
I left the interview SOO nervous over those two questions. I feel like they wrote a lot in terms of things I was saying in general, but I just hope it was enough! I interviewed for about 25 minutes or so. I have heard people interviewing in as little as TEN! That scares the heck out of me! These three weeks are going to DRAG and we will know right around my birthday, so it will either be a happy, exciting time to celebrate more than one good thing, or I'm about to have a pretty stinky birthday this year! Hopefully it's not option number 2!
HOWEVER, it is now a waiting game..interviews are OVER and we are finished with the scary part! Now we wait...................and wait.......and wait................and wait a little more. I will be stalking this page for the first people who receive their interview letters..I'm waiting on you all so no holding back on us
Totally kidding. Good luck everybody and hope your interviews went fantastic!
The question that blanked me was name a situation where you caught a employee doing something unethical and how you handled it. LOL, I asked her if I could name a situation where I was in a ethical dilemma instead and she said that was perfectly fine. I'm not sure if that was wise but I really didn't have any story where I caught a co-worker doing something obviously unethical.
I'll be stalking this page myself. So far, mostly everybody that posted on this thread has been fortunate so far. I hope it continues.
Hi Everyone! Good luck in your interviews and in playing the waiting game!
I'm looking at applying for Fall 2014, and I have a quick question about transfer credits. I'm transferring credits to KSU, and I'm wondering if they'll honor the +/- system at my current university, or make all of my A-'s A's and my B+'s B's and so on. Any insight into that? I'm trying to gather my stats and came across that possible issue. Thanks!

After I transferred my credits from GSU (which uses the +/- system), I looked at the transfer credits page and they converted my B+'s to B and A- to A's.
I'm applying for the accelerated:
Previous degree in art
Teas = 94.7%
Prereq GPA - 4.0
Not sure what my overall GPA is, if they factor in grades from my previous degree or not... it's not listed in Owl, just the 4.0.
The question I got that threw me was at the very end she asked, "Well.... is there any question I haven't asked that you'd like me to ask?" I definitely wasn't expecting that. I turned it into an emphasis on my dedication to becoming a nurse, but it took me a minute to come up with anything.

I was interviewed for the accelerated track and I had one interviewer. She asked similar questions that JoannaSmith posted. I forgot my interviewer's name but she did psychiatry nursing.
