Keiser University CRNA 2020 Applicants

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Good morning everyone, with the last Keiser CRNA class of 2019 filled, I thought it best to start the thread for the cohorts beginning in 2020. I am applying for the Spring 2020 cohort and last I heard, it was still undecided whether they will be doing a doctorate cohort, masters cohort, or both. I was informed that they will only be considering applicants who have all the requirements completed (which I guess they used to allow conditional acceptance). I have had my finger on the pulse of Keiser and the CRNA program for the past couple years and have a bunch of information and questions. I hope you find this forum useful in your career decisions and best of luck in your applications.

I was wondering how long after you all applied did you hear about an interview and how did they contact you ?

thanks and good luck to everyone ??

Did you get accepted into the program that fast or did you mean invited for an interview?

No, invited for an interview was a couple months because it happened to land during graduations in February.

After the interview on a Monday, I knew Friday by email

Hi- Has anyone interviewed for August 2020 cohort yet? The waiting is so hard.

I got an interview here in March! Anyone know what kind of questions they tend to ask (clinical vs personal) and any tips?

Thanks!!

Congratulations on receiving an interview offer RNDrewski!! ??? Exciting!!

I have read others experience had personal and some a combination of personal and clinical.

How did you find out about the interview offer via email or did you receive offer by mail?

I received an email awhile back! Thanks I’ve been hearing that too

Here are the questions I was asked from what I remember?

How do you plan to deal with stress in this program?

How do anesthesia meds affect preload?

What kind of support system do you have?

Do you have any questions for us? (I suggest you think of some)

Why do you want to be a CRNA?

Your not gonna be able to work during the program, how do you plan to finance the program and take care of yourself financially?

Anesthesia program has a very high substance abuse rate. What strategies do you plan to use to prevent this?

I gave the answer that I have been an RN for 13 years. It hasn't been a problem then, and now and it wont be a problem ever. NOPE, THAT IS A TERRIBLE ANSWER, do not say that. There exact response was you have never been tested like this in nursing. I had to back track and tell them how it wouldn't affect me.

Why should I pick you over the many other applicants we have? What is special about you?

I DID GET ASKED 2 CLINICAL QUESTIONS, I JUST CANT REMEMBER THE 2ND ONE. I didn't know the answer to the first one and I told them I didn't know and I wasn't gonna try and BS my answer. REMEMBER, your sitting in front of VERY SMART CRNAs. They are gonna know when your full of crap. Integrity is a huge part of this program.

Hope that helps

Last year my questions were all behavioral. They have the written test that was CCRN like questions and then a group interview that dealt with a clinical scenario, and then an essay.

I submitted all my documents on the 9th but haven't heard anything from admissions. has anyone received an interview invitation in the last week or so?
