has anyone ever attended or know someone who has attended keiser college school of nursing? Looking for information on price and quality of education?

We have Keiser students come to our hospital and I can tell you that most of them are better prepared than the community college students.

I teach all the students who come to my area (the cath lab) and go over A&P, medication and cardiac with them. The Keiser student in the past 2 years have been much better than the Community college student in being preparred to answer my questions, more attentive and more willing to learn.

This to me is a testament to the education that they are receiving. I don't think that Florida bright futures pays however for Keiser. But some Hospitals will contract with you to pay for your education if you hire on.

Bright futures does...it did for me. It works for both public and private schools. Private will just be a fixed amount of whatever 75-100% is public.

THANKS I GOT IN!!! to FCCJ's nursing program. I am so excited...IDK if I previously mentioned but the gentleman (im being extremely nice in calling him that) from Keiser told me that I would NEVER be able to get into FCCJ's program that my grades weren't good enough. That I needed HIS school. I'm so glad to now say that tmrw is the first day of the next 16 months of my crazy/hectic life, and my GRADUATION DATE is December 7th 2009 WOO HOO!!!

:yeah: I'm so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Study super hard, open and read your material for your exams every day, always go to the lab to practice your skills, always ask the lab instructor for help or critique days before your skill evaluation. ..... oh yeah, and for tests get the book "saunder's comprehensive review for nclex-rn" >-- it's a book that really helped me do practice questions before tests (I never failed a lecture)...

wish you the best of luck!

Apparently you haven't worked as a LPN in FL.

Never worked as an LPN, but at the hospital where I work, the base pay for a brand new LPN is $13/hr.......... perhaps it is different elsewhere. I just post of the topics that I know.

Hello I was actually just accepted into the LPN program at keiser and was very pleased to hear your comment about being satified with the LPN's because surprisely I've heard the same thing. I've been so nervous about my decision to go to Keiser because I'd really like to get a move on my career as ultimately becoming an RN

You will be an RN. Does Keiser have an LPN-RN program??

I totally understand why people chose keiser for the RN program, as RN programs are difficult to get into public colleges and unviersities.

but I don't understand why people chose keiser for LPN program, when there are thousands of public schools that have LPN programs, and even some private schools for tops $6K

Mercy school of nursing, in miami is a private LPN school that costs about $6K for their LPN program---- so I don't get why people go to keiser for the same degree for $19K:uhoh3:

Ok, I'm in a RN program, but I just recently learned that some of the RN programs through private schools don't transfer over for an RN-to-BSN program. Does Keiser?

Keiser does not. There are a lot of credits that you have to repeat at a public university.

Most people that do keiser for RN, have to go through a private university to get their BSN, so most people will chose keiser for their RN-BSN course.

How funny, I am at Keiser, graduating next month, and had no problems applying to another school to finish my BSN, we are regionally and nationally acreddited...

You applied to public universities as well and were accepted?

That is really good, what university are you doing your RN-BSN?

The two people that I have met from keiser, whom I worked with, were not able to go to FIU, therefore one is doing her bsn at Keiser's RN-BSN program, and the other is doing hers at Jacksonville University online.

I have read so many post on this blog about Keiser and its so funny how people try to convince people how the school is so bad....Do your own research and get your facts straight before listening to others. Keiser is a great school...Its expensive, but for me its worth it because nursing schools are so competitive to get into and by the time I get accepted to other school I will graduate from Keiser.

I agree with FutureNurseVal. Deciding on a school is a decision that you have to make for yourself. I understand seeking info from others but please do your own research. Check the status of their accreditation, graduation rate, and NCLEX pass rate. I have chosen to apply to Keiser because after all of my research they offered exactly what I was looking for. Just my :twocents:

Which Keiser campus are you at?
