I am a firm beliver in if you do what is right for your pt you are always in the right....

2 weeks ago I had a terminal pt that died during my shift. One of the PRN nurses I work with questioned some things I did for this pt. This PRN nurse of course did not come to me with her concerns but went to other nurses through out the facility and some 2nd string mgmt. By the time it got back to my mgr things were blown out of proportion and I had yet to even defend myself.

So my mgr being the good mgr that she is, looked into my charting, spoke with the attending and what did she find out?? My charting was ideal, the attending said I was a great pt advocate and kept him informed. Long story short I had my yearly review on Monday and I got a bigger raise than I was expecting, my review stated wonderful things such as I am a strong pt advocate, I have good repor with physcians, my documentation is strong.

I need to thank that nurse that had to make a mountain out of a mole hill...as thanks to her I had the opportunity for my mgr to really look into my work.

Karma Baby!! Good for you!! It's nice to read a happy ending like this one. Shame on the gossip monger but now that she's been schooled let's hope she learned her lesson for the future. Send her a holiday card and leave a big smooth mark in it. lol :)

or, a thank you card may be appropriate too.;)

i love stories like yours, racing.

yay for you!:yeah:

that's great. Karma can indeed be a good thing. You reap what you sow and it comes back to you tenfold. That is truly awesome.
