Kaplan Post MSN FNP

Published

Does anyone know if this is accredited or not?

They do not say on their website if their programs are accredited and I keep getting the run around from the admissions guy I have been working with.

Thanks.

You can alwasy go to the CCNE and NLNAC web sites and search.

No they are not ccne accredited. I just researched the school because I want to get my fnp degree. South university is accredited and the tuition is reasonable. Hopefully I will begin classes in January there.

Thanks Jeanpeacock.

I couldn't get a straight answer from Kaplan to save my life.

I am looking at South University too.

Thanks!

Jeanpeacock is incorrect. Kaplan University's program are accredited. On the Kaplan website, it notes:

Accredited Online University: Striving for Excellence in Online Education | Kaplan University

The online Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and the online Master of Science in Nursing program are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

One DuPont Circle, NW, Suite 530

Washington, DC 20036

Tel: 202.887.6791

Their post-MSN certificates are NOT accredited.

I finally received an email from the president's office today.

*** The OP wasn't asking about BSN or MSN.

Yes, you are correct. Kaplan's post-Masters Graduate Certificates are not accredited by the CCNE. If you contact the CCNE they will inform you that they do not accredit certificate programs. They only accredit degree programs. For those nurses looking to pursue a post-Masters NP graduate certificate, rest assured that you will still meet the educational requirements to sit for the ANCC national certification exam as long as your MSN was from a CCNE-accredited school.

You folks should really post this information on your website. It is quite misleading to NOT do so, and could save a lot of work.

We do not specify it that way because we cannot speak for the CCNE or any other organization besides our own.
