I'm surprised to see so many people that didn't like Kaplan. I took the classroom review course. The classroom was ok, and I didn't really even look at the book, but having access to the question trainers & qbank (both online) were definitely beneficial. The questions were more like the NCLEX than Saunders & ATI. If you have the money, it may be worth looking into just buying the qbank (I'm not sure how much that is by itself). I passed boards... 40 minutes & I was in & out of there. Good luck whatever you decide.

I find Kaplan very helpful. :D They make it convienient for everyone's needs.

I took a few months off after graduation to move back home after studying abroad and had a hard time focusing, and studying on my own. So I decided to go with Kaplan, went to the classes , got crucial and important tips* on how to prioritize and answer NCLEX type questions, then focused on answering questions with the class for 4 hours. It was good to hear others and have their support --Also, I have access to test different booklets/rationales at the Kaplan Training Center, to review questions from class and Diagnostic and Readiness Test, and they have study rooms you could use when there is no class in session.

*The Kaplan test taking tips are also found in the Online On-Demand Video,Test Taking Workshop, I found that the On-Demand videos gave me a quick review of the Content that I should focus on or was weak in. (Im the type of person that needs to hear someones voice and see a face to make it stick in my memory bank sometimes)

The QBank and QTrainers- very helpful in showing you which areas you are weak in and you could create your own Tests too. It gives you an analysis of your answers and gives you the content area you should focus on.

Ive been told that Kaplan Questions are very similar to NCLEX questions or even harder , so I feel confident with Kaplan. Ive noticed that practicing the QB and QT while applying the Kaplan test taking tips made it clearer on how to answer questions from Kaplan and other Books and CDs.

I am also using Saunders, a good book to refresh my content weaknesses, helped me thru school too :) and I go to the Library and use whatever up to date NCLEX-RN prep books they have and answer those questions, when staring at the computer gets tiring..

Well Good Luck to you!:heartbeat

would you send/pm the website also. Thanks

I would recommend the questions as well if thats all you can afford. Most like the NCLEX questions and I felt beyond comfortable. In and out less than an hour, 75 questions, and I passed. I only used the Kaplan.

hi,

would you like to send me a web site .

thank you

I found Kaplan very helpful! I took the live class though, I have heard the online class doesn't help as much. Just make sure you take a lot of questions everyday.

I'll rather advise you not to waste your money buying kaplan, but if you're doubting yourself go ahead and buy the review. Check your PM, i sent you a website that have free NCLEX question. Good Luck!:D

I would love to have that website too! Thanks!

I am not sure.

Kaplan and Exam Cram were the ONLY sources I used to study. I only practiced lots of questions for 6 weeks. I also reviewed lab values and infection control precautions two days before the exam. I didn't go over any content. I practiced 50-150 questions a day, and I passed with 75 questions. I felt that the Kaplan questions were harder than the NCLEX, so they really prepare you. With Exam Cram, the questions were similar in style to the NCLEX. If you not great at critical thinking questions, then I would definitely recommend Kaplan. Good luck with everything!!!! :D

My free thoughts: The kaplan class itself was so-so, could have easily done without that! What i found useful was the question bank and the text book! I used that along with Saunders and was successful on the first try
