Kaplan college in San Diego RN program

Published

Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.

Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!

I got nothing official in the mail, however my rep called me and said I'm good to go for the Jan start date. I haven't received the mail that tells me which classes transfer to Kaplan. Either way I am still excited!

That's awesome!!! Yeah:-)

I think I remember a post from one applicant for September that received her list of transfers first. Not sure though, maybe they come together.

Alright everyone....I takes to my rep (via email) and she said the DON has the applications in hand and reps SHOULD here some by the end of the week. Does anyone know the application deadline for January's cohort?

I think my rep forgot about me. Haha how sad. He doesn't return my phone calls or emails so I have no idea what in the world is going on. I'm starting to think that he might not have even resubmitted my application! I'm going crazy, but trying to be hopeful. Good luck to everyone :)

That's one thing I can give credit to my rep for....she's great at returning emails. I'm not as freaked out about this time as I was for September. Haha. In sure ur rep submitted ur application.......I don't think any of them are that messed up! Good luck!

That is great news! We'll all keep our fingers crossed for some word :) All we want is an official acceptance letter, right? LOL.

Yeah I called him again and finally talked to him haha! He said everything is in and so I hope even with my less than stellar math score the DON decides to somehow accept me!

Fingers n toes r definitely crossed! Haha. Doesn't it seem early to get the phone calls though? I was surprised my rep said they should know this week!

Well glad it was submitted!! Keep ur fingers crossed!!

I know it seems early this time. When we got the bad news about September I feel like we found out really close to the actual start date

Actually, we were suppose to know by July for September, so it is a bit earlier, isn't it? I could be totally off, but for some reason, October 15th got stuck in my head.

If we all cross fingers and toes, maybe we will hear good news sooner? LOL

Right! That's what is throwing me off. We didn't find out for September until August! And now we might find out in Oct??? That's way early. I don't even think the deadline has passed for applications yet! Hahaha. Very confusing.

Just wondering if the DON had so many applicants from September, that many were moved over to January? Maybe this is why everything seems to be earlier this time around? Just a thought.

It is a bit confusing, but I'm sure we will hear something soon!

Best of luck to everyone :)
