Kaplan college in San Diego RN program

Published

Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.

Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!

I got a call today and I was not accepted for September start. However, I have not heard that alternates are automatically in for January. My rep told me that the director of nursing will be deciding after labor day who will be getting early acceptance for January start. Good Luck to everybody else. This is a sign for me because with some situations that are going on in my life, January would be a better time to go back to school!
At least you got a call....I didn't even get one :(

Well my last name starts with "A" possibly it is alphabetical. I wouldn't say mine was the best call but I could tell by the sound in my reps voice that is was not a happy call.

Around what time did they call you? Did they say you would be an alternate or that they will decide it after Labor Day as well?

Anyone know of anyone who was accepted today? I can't believe this is all taking so long! I've always heard the alternates are automatically in for the next cohort......but we all know how that goes!

It's so annoying getting info out of anyone there. They ALWAYS tell us something different and I don't really believe anything they've been telling us.

You know it! Haha. I can't believe they didn't call more people today:(. I guess maybe tomorrow they will get through the list. :(

I don't even think my rep will call me if I'm not accepted. I'll probably just get that denial letter in the mail

You don't have enough experience? That's probably the biggest bull I've ever heard. I hope that they take us all for January. I still haven't recievced my call yet...
